Other than Grimes leadoff double to lead off the bottom of the first, I'm not sure that the Shocks have even hit a ball hard.

Our only other hit was a bunt single by Grimes in the 6th.

          And the meltdown is complete.

An utterly pathetic performance in all facets of the game today. Way to build off that Arizona momentum!

I'm going to take the high road today, I hope you will all approve, but if we can take the game tomorrow, a 4 - 1 week is not too shabby and we should feel good. Good pitching beats good hitting every time and sometimes you got to tip your cap to the other guy on the mound. It sounds like his stuff is dominating today.

Now, if we lose tomorrow, then I'll be pissed but lets wait and see...

4-2 final. Their starter had our number and we failed to adjust to his junk (so to speak). Win the series tomorrow like my new friend KC says and its a good week. Lose and its the same ole same ole inconsistency of the last two seasons rearing its ugly head.

Just got home from the game. I thought the team played very uninspired and Penn State quite the opposite. All the Shox had to do was put the ball in play and let Penn State kick it around a little. Didn't happen and yet the Shox had the tying run at the plate in the 8th and 9th.

There were too many bad ABs to count. Too many missed opportunities. The hitters absolutely refused to adjust to the starting pitcher throughout the game.

Penn State was very aggressive at the plate. They clearly had a chip on their shoulder after Tim Kelley made them look like little leaguers yesterday.

The only relatively bright spot was once again the relief pitching. Muncrief cleared the deck when he entered the game and had Penn State hitters muttering and cursing. I don't understand how both his runs were earned, since one scored from third on an error. LaBrie was good, too.

                    --'85.

This could be a turning point in the season for the Shox. The 1st baseman for Penn State tried to instigate a fight with Coughenour after a collision and error at 1st base and Tyler didn't bite.

Then later in the game the baseball caromed off a Penn State runner on a play at 3rd base and rolled toward and eventually into the dugout. Coughenour was attempting to retrieve it along with Muncrief before it got there and the Penn State 1st baseman (I think) showed his arse again. Then he shoved or punched TC. Then Muncrief went into help his freshman out and the Shocker bench and bullpen cleared. After all that, the clueless umpiring crew chose not to eject anyone. What a bunch of clueless idiots.

Tomorrow should be interesting, here's hoping for a beat down and then stolen bases, bunts and squeeze plays in the bottom of the 8th up 15-0. Hopefully we will be in a position to administer some bruising to the idiot 1st baseman (more than once) prior to the 8th inning. If they choose to hit Coughenour tomorrow, my hope is that it is officially on.

I used to sort of root for Joe Paterno and Penn State, now I think most of them are classless bastards!

Hopefully the Shocks will respond tomorrow. I agree with KC on this one.

A 4-1 week will work just fine, but we need come out from the get go and play like we really want it. However, a 3-2 week will feel like we fumbled away most of the benefits of the Arizona sweep.

                        :goshocks:

As far as early regular season games go, I think it's hard to overstate the importance of tomorrow's game. Absolutely HUGE.

Let's get a W and keep the momentum rolling.

                          :wsu_posters:

Isn't PSU's coach a former Okie State player? If so, then he's just passing on the hate.
