  • Remaining schedule and current RPIs

Not a lot of opportunities for top 100 wins based on current RPI, though I imagine that a few of these might move into the top 100 as the season progresses, such as Oregon, KU, K-State, and ORU.

We currently have only two top 100 wins, Dallas Baptist and Tulane. Arizona is not in the top 100 but will certainly be there at the end of the year.

Our four losses are to top 50 teams; #41 UTA and #13 Tulane.

Oregon, Hawai'i, NU, KU, KState RPIs will go up when they get into conference play. Oregon should be much higher and they have been a huge disappointment so far. They have tumbled in the rankings.

WSU is RPI 56 right now with SoS around 179. SoS isn't going to change much, IMO, because the terrible MVC teams will offset the better teams.

Something just must be about scheduling in the MVC. Scheduling may be worse in baseball than basketball. There are several teams with sub-200 SoS. Some play a series vs. good teams, but loadup on really bad ones. It's like they have no confidence in their ability. I'm sure it is doubly hard to get better teams to play in Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, etc. in March.

The key for the Shox is to win, win, win. An occasional loss is OK, but not many.

I can't take RPI ratings serious until around April 1.

KU 7-10 and last in the Big 12.

KSU - played a pretty weak non-conference to this point and have struggled. Of course if they get it going in the B12 then it won't be a problem.

WSU really needs Az to kick it in rest of the way. RPI wise they are not looking like impressive wins. They will have plenty of opportunities to help make WSU look better.

MVC has not been to terribly bad (or good either). 5 teams with low 100's RPI and 2 with sub + 200 RPI. Overall around 15th. MSU is 2-3 vs Top 50 and ISU-Red is 1-1 vs Top 50. CU has the 2nd best record in the MVC and did win 2 of 3 from Arkansas.

MVC ISR is ranked 11th but 15th in RPI. So the MVC will be a little tougher than they are received.

WSU is really going to need to dominate the rest of the way to build the at-large, regional host worthy.
