Garrett looked like he suffered a pretty bad injury to his right knee.I hate our field not having dirt. There were several slides today that went over the bags and guys getting up slowly after sliding.
Could you see what it looked like? Or, if you're listening, what did Shane have to say?
Word floating around the 1B line was broken ankle.
Garrett slid hard into 2B on a SB attempt. I suspect the turf was still a little wet and he hit the base a lot harder than normal. He fouled a ball hard off his ankle yesterday in the cold - don't know if there was an injury that was worsened today.
Ankle not official, but that what we heard coming from the dugout.

8-3 final. Flynn a little shaky in relief, but overall a pretty solid day.
Flynn has been his own worst enemy so far. If he can reign-in the BB some, he's going to be great. Bringing in a lefty that throws as hard as he does is going to make him a lock-down guy if he can stop issuing free passes to 1B.

Obie doubles in two. Harbutz gets into the act, singles in Obie. 8-2 Shox.
Donnie Baseball keeps the inning alive with a single. First and second, two outs for Walker Texas Ranger Davidson.
Micah "I'm still a little" Green gets picked off second to end the inning.
COB has been just waxing the ball. So far his ability to protect Springer and Coy has been great. He is a huge key to the Shox success in '11.
Donnie is a real surprise and keeps on hitting. It looks like he has a little speed, too. What a bonus picking up a veteran player like him.
Green got ripped pretty good by Crusty after not going 1st to 3rd on Lambert's single. Then he proceeded to get picked-off 2B. He couldn't get back to LF fast enough. Micah needs reps, I think. If Bayliff's injury is as serious as it looked, someone will get a chance to break-in in LF. Green just looks like a ball player and he needs to get some confidence. I'd love to see him get a decent shot.

Today's game could have been a real laugher. There were A TON of "at 'em" balls hit really hard be the Shox up and down the line-up. I don't remember all of them, but there was a lay-out catch in CF, a screamer down the 1B line with the fielder holding the runner, a shot up the middle, etc.
The ND pitchers are better than Niagra's. The Shox are making them look like high schoolers. Granted these pitchers probably aren't top-flight D1 talent, but they aren't chopped liver, either. There is a lot more going with the ball where pitched and driving it up the middle. The popups have been pretty minimal.
You all know, I have been critical and don't tend to pump sunshine. This team looks like it has renewed focus at the plate. We'll see what happens the next two weeks on the road.
