    Very classy gesture.

    • I would trade ORU for about half a dozen teams in the Valley any day.

        • In a game involving 2 future Shocker opponents, Creighton beat Ku tonight in Lawrence.

If I said no, would that mean this only counts as 1/2 a win?
Not at all. I was just curious. However, I don't like Kelley pitching on 3 days rest so early in the season.
Tulsa is Tim's hometown, so that probably factored into letting him pitch this game in spite of being on three days rest. I doubt it signals anything about us throwing guys on three days rest going forward.

I'd rather see them end in a 0-0 tie, game called because of ineptitude. Then the sprinklers come on, the Creighton bus won't start, and half the KU team gets arrested for something. Isn't it about time that the Lawrence PD adds "Sport Played At KU" to their preprinted arrest forms?

              • I think what factored into pitching Kelley and Flynn in this game was the desire to win this game.

This was planned before the season opening series last weekend.

                • I think we'll see a fair amount of Kelley in mid-week action early in the season. Just keep the pitch counts low and it shouldn't be an issue.

These are exactly the type of contests we have to win if we're going to sniff a regional host again.

Great point, senior season, pitching in front of the home town folks, I'm cool with that.

                      • Phone died at the game, but I will take full credit for the win since I drove down to see it live. ;-). (Actually here for a meeting tomorrow, the back to Wichita for the basketball game). It was a great night.

Lots of streaks ending this year. Hope it carries over to St. Louis and Omaha.

Kudos for making the trip down. You watched something that doesn't happen very often.... winning in T-town.
