  • Niagra v WSU - Game 2

    Shocks win 9-1.

Charlie Lowell very sharp. Walker Davidson and Garrett Bayliff the hitting stars...pretty sure that's not a good thing.

If you think we haven't hit in the past, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Tobin Mataychik gives up the Shocks first, and so far only, run of the year in the 9th to prevent back to back shutouts.

      11-1 was the final
"If you're going to do it, you're going to do it right," athletic director Jim Schaus said. "If we're going to put 'Wichita State' across our chest, then every team is going to matter."

I'm hoping you were joking about the hitting today...14 hits and 8 walks. 2-hit days for Hall, Grimes and Coy, as well as Bayliff and Davidson's good days. Not a lot to complain about today.

What a beautiful day for a game. Took my 4 year old girl and the wifey. Better hitting today, I sense 15+ plus tomorrow.

When was the last time we executed one of those? I nearly fainted from the surprise.

I don't think I can remember any for sure since Randy Young. Maybe Hoop laid one down at some point, but neither I nor my friends could remember.

While most of the D-1 coaches may not be too happy with the bat change, I'll bet there is at least on D-1 pitching coach with the initials BK who is not all that unhappy about it.

BTW, I hope Brent's middle name is not Thomas!

I remember Joe Muich getting squeezed home in a game at Long Beech.

Next time I will. I'll shout out at the top of my lungs and say, "where's my boy Rosewood, he owes me some nachos!"

                      You had better raise up.

Great Day for a baseball game. The Shox looked good today.

Thanks for noticing. I guess the "scouts" have been reading Shockernet.

From what I've seen so far, I have no complaints. Niagra certainly doesn't bring the quality of pitching we'll see later, but the Shox were solid all the way 'round this weekend.
