  • Niagra v WSU Game 1

    Just to keep things clear.

Bottom 2 no score. Tim pitches around a leadoff double in the top of the inning.

TK doesn't have the liveliest arm of all time but he sure can deal.

And we're on the board- Bayliff singles to score Lambert, 1-0 Shocks after 2.

We've already seen the good and bad of 'small ball' as Lambert stole 2nd on a botched hit-and-run, leading to the run, but Bayliff got picked off to end the inning.

Don Lambert overslides 3rd, trying to leg out a triple, but drives in 2 to make it 5-0 Shocks.

I really, REALLY like the aggressive base running so far.

Floodgates open in the 3rd, 5-0 Shocks after a two-run single by Coy (I believe, I was on the phone and only partially listening) and a two-run double by Lambert.

I'm with you, but I worry about giving up that many outs. That's two baserunning outs in 3 innings.

Coy struck out, and Obrien hit first pitch for the 2 RBI

Off work today but have something come up so I cant be at the field today.

oh yeah and I dont have any money. What a perfect day to be at the ball field. And my son is actually kind of pissed that we arent there which I am taking as a good sign.

I'm sorry but all this talk about execution being the key this year scares the crap out of me.

To me this team hasn't executed well for most of the last decade.

We will see soon enough I guess. So far though I'm not impressed with the hitters with runners in scoring position.

That will be my only negative comment this year. Hopefully they will execute this year and prove me wrong.

Flynn seems to be doing OK considering the long layoff.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I'm glad we are playing a cupcake to knock the rust off. Flynn's arm is looking strong which is a great sign. His control is not bad either. Of course this is against a lower tier team but so far so good. As usual, soft throwing lefties still give us fits. Dude is throwing 79 mph fastballs - have not heard how slow his breaking stuff is.
