These guys lost a lot from a 4th place MAAC league finisher last year. Only two players return who hit .300 or above. One of those is Ryan McCauley, a 6-5 first baseman who transfered from UNI after doomsday.

Nobody with an ERA better than 8.60 returns for their pitching staff. The guy with the most experience is Kody Kasper, who was 1-3 with a 12.20 ERA in 5 starts.

They've added a couple of Kansas juco pitchers to bolster their staff. Tyler Spear went 6-3 with a 4.24 ERA at Fort Scott last year while Cody Lillich pitched for Hutchinson CC.

John Wilson, a transfer from Pennsylvania juco powerhouse Lackawanna College, might be Niagara's top starter per the Lackawanna Times Leader (see link below)

Wilson was 14-1 for the Falcons in his two seasons.

Niagara also picked up Eric Hink, an infielder who was Region 19 Player of the Year at Lackawanna.

“The rebellion on the populist right against the results of the 2020 election was partly a cynical, knowing effort by political operators and their hype men in the media to steal an election or at least get rich trying. But it was also the tragic consequence of the informational malnourishment so badly afflicting the nation. ... Americans gorge themselves daily on empty informational calories, indulging their sugar fixes of self-affirming half-truths and even outright lies.'

Sounds like the type of pitching staff that past Shocker teams have struggled with.

This is a new season full of mashers up and down the lineup so I am not worried.

      GO SHOX!
Let's hope he can hit a D-1 Curve ball!

          Mashers?

This line up is full of mashers? I thought it was built on speed? I think we have a couple power-ish hitters, but mashers we are a long way from. This is a team that will need to put together 4 or 5 hits and a few walks to have any big innings. I think you could describe it more of a "gap filling" team that will use and abuse the gaps in the outfield. My guess is this team may set the record for team doubles at WSU this season. But that is of course without seeing them face a single pitch yet.
