    Regarding missing 28 games!
Things...both good and bad happen for a reason. Here's hoping this turns out to be a blessing in disguise for both Albert and his Shocker mates.

I am sure Albert will put his "down time" into taking care of business in the classroom, and to helping his teammates become better while working to improve himself. Players who were recruited at his level often have been very big fish in whatever ponds they have been swimming in. I would be willing to bet that this will make him hungry and a beast to contend with when he gets back!

Keep your chin up Albert, work hard, take care of business and the Shockernation will have your back!

Your positive spin on this is admirable, however this stinks to high heaven. Practice does not equate to real D1 game experience that would be truly invaluable learning for the young buck. By the time he is eligble, all the programs will be at mid-season form and close to peaking while he is knocking off the rust and learning to adjust at the D1 level.

Unless he is some sort of diamond in the rough who has an uncanny arm and athletic ability, this will hurt him on the field. I want to punch that advisor in the face as well as the NCAA.

      :good: :good:

The NCAA can burn in hell as far as I'm concerned... they're not much above the Mafia.

Does it have to be 28 consecutive games. Or can it be every other game.

        :D

I have to try very hard to remain positive, however, I am working at not worrying about things I have no control over!

It is possible, maybe even likely that the "advisor" was a well meaning family member or summer coach. At any rate it is not worth burning a bridge over and causing Albert any more of a problem than it already is!

Things are never as good or bad as they seem. Albert is liked by his teammates, works hard, and is very talented. He is also an underclassman on a staff that is loaded with upperclassmen. A little wake up call now could serve as a fuse for great things later.

It is going to be okay in the long run!

I wish there was something I could do to the ncaa.

Let's just hope the 28 games go by fast for Albert.

This is complete bull$#*t. The NCAA is a joke but I have been saying that for years. KU can hire two basketball players dads and a coach of the third player and never get penalized and Alberts adviser makes a phone call and half his season is gone. I'm quite sure Kentucky has never done anything wrong.

From Paul Sullentrop's Shocker Report (e-mail):

Bryan Minnis says his son, a pitcher on WSU's baseball team, doesn't regret choosing college baseball. Albert Minnis may miss half the season because his adviser made improper contact with the Atlanta Braves over the summer.

WSU is waiting on a final report from the NCAA, which it may appeal. "Albert is a strong person," his father said. "He's disappointed, obviously, because he wants nothing more than to play a strong role in WSU's success."

Bryan Minnis said he is pleased with how WSU coaches and administration and officials at the Missouri Valley Conference are helping make the case that Minnis did nothing wrong. "It's reaffirmed to us that Albert made the right decision," he said.
