10-17 so far this season at Texas.. Probably won't get canned after year 2, but if this happens again in year 3 it won't be good. The problem with losing at Texas is they are so sick of losing in their major sports the margin for error is pretty small.

NC State would make sense, but it's a year early. Smart is an East Coast guy. At VCU he could recruit East Coast players to an East Coast school.
That's different than recruiting East Coast players to Texas, both for distance from home and from the difference in importance of basketball and football on the coast and in Texas. In Texas the fans are going to be more familiar with and have more respect for the 3rd string quarterback than for the starting point guard.The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
