I don't watch KU enough to have seen Diallo play, but I've seen some analysis of his play, including video. He appears to be an absolute disaster when it comes to actually doing what he's supposed to do on the court. I don't think he would have any more of an impact this year than Wamukota.

I'm not sure even if you watched KU frequently if you would have seen much of him. He has had very little playing time, for the most part.

I think his ceiling is obviously way higher than Wamukota's, but I've heard the same thing as you: he just isn't in the right spot at the right time. With the difficulty of HCGM's play-book, I can only imagine he would've struggled here as well.

I hate KU, though, so I'm excited that they're having to bury these 5* guys on the bench behind mediocre players. I think they'll really struggle to recruit those kinds of guys after this.

Sounds about right. Gotta give enough time for them to somehow magically be handed yet another Big 12 championship, and 1 or 2 seed, regardless of how many losses they have.

I don't root for or against KU but I do wish we had a couple players they don't even use namely
Mickelson and Diallo. Either one of them would put us in much stronger contention for the F4.

In general (not directed toward @asiseeit): shouldn't WSU fans stop obsessing over Kansas? Personally, I ignore them and their fans and spend my energy supporting the Shocks.

I think their mods were more or less forced to rid that board of negativity.. They had posters demanding Bill Self be fired. I think one person saying it is one thing, but when you have 20 people saying the same thing, that's not good.
Mainly because this is college sports we are talking about, not the NBA. You get a raft of people talking about taboo decisions that are made way above their pay grade and suddenly boosters start talking about it and that's when things start getting ridiculous.
I've seen threads on shockernet that include discussion of firing coaches in the baseball forum and that's mainly it. But honestly, if something drastically changed with WSU basketball, would we seriously have the balls to discuss firing Gregg Marshall in multiple threads? I highly doubt it.

KU's lofty ranking to start this season was based on having a core of returning players (sound reasoning), and the arrivals of Bragg and Diallo to bolster the post (less sound reasoning). They (and probably more accurately, Perry Ellis) had been doing a decent job hiding the disappointing impacts of those two newcomers. Now that the veil has come down I foresee a quick fall from the top 10 unless they go on a winning streak or all the 5-15 teams continue to drop games they should win.

Parity is fun!

The runaway favorite has just been dealing with serious injury issues all year.

March and April will be a demonstration of this to the nation.
