  • Here's Yer Sign (for some KU students)

There's just no way to say anything about this stupidity.

Pretty much stunned any ku student would even know where the end zone was located. Good for them.

      Breaking and entering?
      Vandalism?
... by the actual students of the university?

Well, as long as no bicycles were stolen, THAT'S where my kid is going.

Can someone explain to me the connection between KU and the Royals? Seems every OMGimmaKUfan is also a OMGimmaRoyalsfan. Weird. Wear KU gear to the Royals games; wear Royals gear to the KU game. Some sort of magical transitive property the rest of us aren't privy to?

And do the Chiefs chants in the student section.

I can PROMISE you less than 1% of them were Royals fan prior to September 30, 2014.

And even then, the bottom of the 8th.

Absolutely, I like to point out to the 'new' royals fans that in September '14 home attendance for the first 10 games
averaged around 22000 with a pathetic low of 15000+ for one game in the heat of a pennant race! Numbers like that tell the tale.

Because the people who live in the shithole that is lawrence want to believe said shithole is actually a suburb of Kansas City? Unbeknownst to those in the shithole, those in Kansas City view lawrence as the shithole that it is. :)

It's a crazy phenomenon. I mean they nearly moved a KU basketball game for the Royals if the series went back to KC.

Have you ever heard of a bandwagon?

That should pretty well sum up any explanation you need.

I went to the Angels vs Royals early season series that year. Got a pair of tickets 12 rows behind home plate for $40 a piece. I can confirm that prior to the all-star break that year, the Royals and the fanbase were tragically the same as it had been for the previous 29 years.

I'm not sure I would consider the Royals fan base bad. Remember, they are a small market team.

From 1973 through 1990, the team was, overall, very good, but did have 5 losing years. During that time, the Royals were always in the top half of the league in attendance, much of the time 3rd or 4th. That's excellent for their market.

From 1991 through 1997 their attendance was only less than 10th in the league once out of 14 teams. That's probably not bad for their market size and team performance.

For 16 years, from 1997 through 2012, the Royals were probably the worst team in the American league having 13 seasons of 90 or more loses. They averaged 94 losses during that time. That's very tough to draw fans to yet they finished last in attendance only once.

They're not the Cubs, but that's a very unique situation and a very big market.

Agree. KU has turned their back on the entire state except for the KC metro area and especially JOKO the clowns. Joco is ruining KU. Singing "home of the Chiefs" during the national anthem, and now this. Embarrassing.
