  • Naadir Tharpe transfering from KU

Kansas University junior point guard Naadir Tharpe will not return for his senior season, he and head coach Bill Self announced on Thursday. “Naadir and I have talked numerous times since he’s been here about his role and about his situation back home with his daughter,” Self said. “He’s told me many times how much […]

Tharpe sounds like an irresponsible person. Jayhawk fans that I have read on the internet have been defending him (most not all). The Jayhawk fans that I know personally have not defended him but I really don't know many that I discuss these issues with. But is interesting that Self does not defend him. This leads me to believe that he isn't worth defending.

I feel I am one of the few on this board who doesn't despise KU lol. They are still in Kansas and I'll root for them against everyone except WSU. When I first started getting in to basketball was when KU had Collison, Hinrich, Gooden, Boschee, and Langford. Great teams! Hinrich is still my favorite player. He came into the Warren old town theatre once and I was able to talk to him. Great guy. Back on topic lol, Tharpe is a wildly inconsistent shooter and passer. He has good games, but he has proven himself to not be a very quality starter in the league. There is a reason 2 freshmen pg took up a lot of mintes from one of the only veterans on the team. He just isn't that good. I was really hoping we would play KU in the tourny because FVV would of ate him for lunch lol

I read for a few seconds on Phog.net before being disgusted. If we ever celebrated one of our own players transferring.. well, I don't even have to think about it because it's just not something our fans do.

I don't think it'll ever happen, but KU fans are due for a few years of losing seasons. It would be amazing to watch the masses flock to the return line at Walmart.

Ku is a dumpster fire. Their fans aren't happy with the AD cuse the rest of the big 12 is building huge football stadiums while ku drags its feet. And oh yeah their football team is the worst in the nation. Basketball- self needs to take page out of mike gundy's book cuse fans shouldn't cheer a athlete tranferring like they are.

                  Gee, what a surprise.

Wait -- I thought he was declaring for the NBA draft. Wasn't that his pickup line with the misguided mom in his notorious picture? Or was it just, as the late, great Maxwell Smart would have said, "The old 'Don't worry about money -- I'm declaring for the draft, baby..." trick?"

How come nobody has started a Fred Van Vleet to KU thread yet?

As expected, KU replaces Tharpe with Devonte Graham. You can read about Graham on our recruiting board. The new Appy State coach finally gave him a release.

Does he tip his lap dancers better than Tharpe?

                          Where does Tharpe go?

I mean, I don't care for him, but he isn't exactly a bad player. He will be a hot commodity at the next level down (mid major or crappy/struggling high major).

I'm gonna say it. I hope he winds up in the Valley because he could make all of our teams better... Other than WSU. Of course, he will probably wind up at a high profile party school, so who am I kidding. The only way he makes it to an MVC school is if nobody wants a troublemaker at the higher end schools.

I'd sure love Bradley or SIU to get him. Bradley just landed that nice forward, and SIU has Barry. It's not impossible. Then again, he'd fit right in with ILL St.'s program...

Someone remind me that I'm crazy and put me in my place, please.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up in a lower level league like the Big East.

Naadir just wanted to be closer to his family... so he's going D-League.
