  • Tim Brando leaving CBS

Wow, am kind of surprised by this. However CBS SN networks decision to stop showing his radio show on TV probably had a lot to do with it. I thought he was an excellent announcer and he was on the call in Greensboro in 2006 for CBS. Had Gregg Marshall on his show several times his year alone and seemed to be fairly complimentary.

My guess is he'll land at ESPN or FS1. He's too good not to.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Brando is a class act. He'll land on his feet running.

Actually, that was Kevin Harlan, who is also a fantastic announcer.

But your point still stands. Brando is good and should get a call from somewhere else.

            How sure are you?

I don't want to get in an argument but I'm darn sure it was Brando.

Tim was on 1045ESPN here in Baton Rouge this afternoon. He was a sportscaster at WAFB TV here in Baton Rouge before joining CBS.

He said that he and CBS split amicably. He had time on his contract when they cancelled the show. He is going to be a "Free Agent" and see what comes up. Most positions he wants currently have people, and many speculate he will end up with the SEC network, although he wouldn't go into it.
