  • Life of a basketball coach

Good read about the rough life of an assistant. He happens to be Elywn McRoy whose mother lives in Wichita and he was on the Southeast High staff for a year.

Is anybody else embarrassed by how wrong their preconceived notions and assumptions about what the life of an assistant basketball coach is like?

The story is well done, and the layout of how you read through is engaging.

Something tells me there is a lot more to this guy's story. The whole story usually isn't as romantic.

Didn't coach K get rid of his whole staff one time because he wasn't satisfied with the way the previous year had gone?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe McRoy played high school basketball for the ubiquitous Steve Eck, didn't he?
