There is a HUGE, glaring hint in there for ADES and HC3GM ... the SEC is looking for better non-con games ... I'd be on the phone with every dang coach in that league, including Kentucky, trying to schedule 'em.Last edited by Kung Wu; March 19, 2013, 11:00 AM.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!

Are they really that stupid? If the conference doesn't perform in the noncon, how can the committee know they're good? It's not rocket surgery. It's simply arrogance by the SEC. Props to the committee for rewarding teams that try to challenge themselves.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

Three comments.
1. The humerous thing about Martin's comments is that at MSU, he didn't schedule high enough to get an at large.
2. The the bottom half of the Valley also laid an egg during the non-conference schedule and then beat up better Valley teams (seems to happen every year).
3. We almost got Alabama on the schedule this year for a home/home. Maybe they'll do it this year.

And to think about the insane amount of money funneling into these programs from their collective TV deals based almost solely on Football, and I will go out on a limb and say that the SEC isn't even close to a mid-major in success. They're below mid-major.
I always enjoy the football rankings that the USA Today does on coaching salaries compared to wins, and how much each win cost them.
It would be interesting to get a list of program budgets for each SEC school and compare it to wins plus tournament success, and then compare it across the spectrum with other conferences.

His comment was odd, but HCGM gave Cuonzo a lot of props for doing something that most coaches won't do. He schedule us. I give him props for that too. Tennessee was snake bit this year to a certain extent. Cuonzo should have manned up a bit and just acknowledged their difficulties as a team and not hid behind the conference, but maybe he was just trying to support the conference. Having said that, I (again) give him props for scheduling us but his comments kind of remind me of Turgeon and his "at this level" comments and mentality.
It's only going to get worse guys. the BCS teams aren't going to put up with this for long. As soon as they finish consolidating their power, the BCS conferences and a couple of the upper tier non-BCS conferences are going to tell the NCAA to shove it and least the rest behind... They are like medical insurance companies who think they can increase profits by dropping more and more clients, even healthy ones...Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!
