  • Britney Griner

    Is she a he??

I mean, all joking aside.. as recently as 1996, the Olympics tested for men trying to perform as a woman so it would be easier for them to win gold.

She is a hell of an athlete, has post moves that you only see from the best of men (granted she is playing against far less athletic women). And she's got a very deep voice.

Now, I don't really think Britney is a male, but damn. She could play for a lot of D1 men's programs.

Are you really going there? One might suppose Griner's teammates might think something was up if the plumbing was different, no?

Sure, she's not the most feminine female athlete on the planet, but give her the credit she's due. She is one heck of a player.

She has apparently plead guilty and faces up to 10 years. Will be interesting to see how this plays out as it's 100% political.

              I don't like her politics and I am not a fan. She's also a spousal abuser...hopefully she's past that.

I think the State Department should do everything (reasonably) possible, including swapping prisoners, to get her back to the United States. But every other American held by Russia needs to come home too. If only she comes home then that's BS.

But she needs to get back here, and be told (as should EVERYONE in her shoes) that this is the one get out of jail free card. You want to travel abroad anymore, you're on your own.

Anytime a person goes to a totalitarian or authoritarian country, and break their laws, it becomes a political football, and that person is subject to that countries laws, punitive and dirty prison system, and judges/corruptive institutions. Personal rights just aren’t important in those countries. It doesn’t matter if you are talking China, Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Mexico, or Cuba. It truly is ironic that she placed herself in this precarious position.

And, The American Marxist, Socialist, Communist left is surprised? Even our resident Libertarian seems somewhat surprised. It shouldn’t surprise anyone. The somewhat Socialist democratic Western European countries are not the places to worry about.

I'm surprised? That's news to me. I was simply passing along the info I'd come across.

Though I do love it when some of you put words in my mouth or now thoughts in my head.

Well, I did say “somewhat surprised”. In fairness, you didn’t say that this happens a lot. Every time when it does happen the left acts surprised and outraged.

Mark my words, it will happen again, and human rights, freedoms, drugs and/or religion will most likely be involved.

I believe our Federal Government should have a much narrow focus when it comes to matters with which they are involved.

The safe return of American citizens to this country should always be very, very high on that list of to dos, no matter their political leanings, or which side is in power.

Britney plead guilty to breaking Russian laws and drug use in Russia where she was making lots of money as a professional basketball player. She is deserving of some interventions by the United States government, because of her U.S. Citizenship but American power is limited within the borders of another sovereign country, so unless Biden wants to declare War, it’s going to take time and patience. Additionally, during this time of Russian War, Putin has little motivation to negotiate.

These facts are true, no matter which political party Griner is a member of.

Griner pleading guilty was probably a required prelude that will lead to a prisoner exchange. Hopefully, it won't be limited to just Griner.

Won't she just get deported? I can't imagine Putin wants her either.
