"Let it Ride" is now on Netflix instant queue! Cant wait to watch it. Maybe will watch "Dutch" when thats over. 2 great movies.

I just don't get how anyone can root for that crook Calipari. They already get enough pub being in the SEC based on their football and baseball programs. KU is not our rival, never have been and never will be so I don't see the hate slant there. The fact they won't play us in basketball is not enough of a reason to dislike them as well. Sure, some of their fans are arrogant, and have no clue what the state of Kansas is like outside of NE Kansas but I can't fault them on how they were raised. I lived up there for quite a while and rumors of how bad Wichita's crime rate is and the amount of gangs here just floored me.

They think Wichita is the Los Angeles of the midwest in terms of crime. Generations passing down negative rumors of Wichita persist. It also doesn't help that Wichita kids who go to school up there perpetuate the negative stereotypes of Wichita by saying there's nothing to do here, it's not a place to be if you are young and single.

All that aside, I don't place blame, they have no notion that their train of thought is biased and flawed. It was how they were brought up. They can't help it. Like it or not, Kansas in the championship game brings attention to our state. Hell, would we rather be any of these forgotten states like New Hampshire, Delaware, Vermont, N and S Dakota, etc.? Any positive image of our great state of Kansas is a good thing.

We generally see eye to eye on most subjects but I have to disagree with your first statement, I cannot figure out why anyone would root for KU. Their fan base reminds me of the sCUmm from Omaha.

Fred Phelps and his clan get lots of attention for the state also and they are big KU fans. Of course if Westboro Baptist Church was playing KU tonight I would have to root for them.

Of course I have four Patrick Swayze movies to watch so I will be occupied during the sCUmfest.
