Besides a couple KU fans being upset that KSU promotes this kind of thing, it's honestly just a laughing matter.

Unless it's just been too long since my last lesson in Kansas history, the Jayhawk logo has no direct connection to the historical term "Jayhawker", particularly considering that is a recent incarnation of the KU mascot.

No offense to the educators out there, but there is something very wrong when our kids are subject to that type of indoctrination, as unintentional as it may be, then made to feel like they did something wrong. The teacher should be apologizing to the girl and her mother, then be required to take a remedial state history class. Then whichever school she received her degree from (as if we have to guess) have their education program reviewed by the state board of regents or an accreditation board.

Royal, back when I was a wee lad in the early 60's they made us color Jayhawks in the Wichita public schools. The indoctrination has been going on for a long time around here...
