    McDermott's chances rated HIGH

Doug McDermott, 6-7, So., F, Creighton
Stat line: 24.3 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 62.1 FG

Chances: High. McDermott has been one of the most complete players in the country and is a first-team All-American, at the very least. He could be this season's Jimmer Fredette, coming from outside a power six conference to win the national player of the year honor. McDermott has led the Bluejays to the top of the Missouri Valley and into the Top 25. He is the focus of every opposing defense, too.

I hope he wins, and at very least gets 1st team AA. It would be great for the league.

I think the big question up in the air for Doug right now would be "Do you stay your 4th year, or leave after your junior year?"

If he is smart he will stay.

Two words as to why... Adam Morrison.

And dont get me wrong. He is an OUTSTANDING college player. And a legit POY candidate. So was Morrison. So was Fredette. So was Reddick. All found small roles on teams. But he is not Blake Griffin.

It also depends on his draft stock. If he feels that his draft stock won't increase from his junior to senior year, then that's just one more year of not earning a nice salary in the NBA. It's funny to compare him to Korver, but I would suspect that Doug will have a successful career such as Korver has had. He's no super star, but he'll be a contributor on each team he plays with.

I just wonder what Dad will do with that. You obviously want your star player to play 4 years for you, but it's also your son, and you want what is best for him, and that might be declaring for the draft early.

He'll stick it out with dad. There's plenty of money to be made and his family is already rolling in it so there is no urgency. He's got to be thinking he can compete for an NCAA championship (right or wrong thats what he'll be thinking). I think he stays and its not even a tough call.

I wouldn't bring this topic up in front of 3G. Just sayin'.

I don't know about that Doc. I imagine, especially going forward this year and next, that Coach Marshall will at some point mention the media attention and love Doug is getting nationally playing in the Valley. He is putting up numbers not many can compete with, and his ranked Creighton squad is ranked in the top 20.

                        Several excellent points in there.

Kind of hilarious to think about how NCAA recruiting, handout, etc guidelines apply in a family.

No phone calls, Dad! Wait, what? No allowance? Snap.

Probably a good skit in there, if someone were a little ambitious.
I think Pringles original intention was to make tennis balls... but on the day the rubber was supposed to show up a truckload of potatoes came. Pringles is a laid-back company, so they just said, "**** it, cut em up!" - MH

You're right about that @Downtown Shocker Brown:. I was more referring to the general topic of bringing up Creighton and their successes with Coach. I think he's heard just about enough of how good CU is this season.
