Hard to pick up the ball on this video but I was at that game and I rememer that kick vividly. Joe made it with room to spare.

And the very storng south wind deserves a huge assist.

I was at the game and left with about a minute remaining... and the reason I don't like to leave sporting events early.

Wow! While at WSU I used to go to Cessna and practice kicking field goals for hours at a time. I pumped in a 60 yard field goal with no wind and off the ground. Sucker bounced off the cross bar and toppled in. But it took all I had and I didn't have pads on or monsters running at me. I never tried with a tee and I forced myself to practice against the wind instead of with it (takes serious self discipline).

I had no idea a WSU kicker had the record. That's crazy awesome. Would have been seriously motivating to know that while I was down there on the same field.
