  • Problems using IE

My work recently did a tech overhaul and has apparently barred the use of all browsers other than Internet Explorer for security reasons (don't get me started).

My tablet, phone, and home laptop work just fine w/r/t this board in the myriad of browsers I use on those, but my god, it is horrible on IE. Typing catches about 85% of keystrokes, I can't link or use many features, etc.

Does anyone else have this issue and is there an easy fix?

It's very likely to be a plug in giving you problems and not IE itself. What version of IE?

        I
have te same issue with thekeystrokes. I'm leaving this unedited toshow how it works for me. The odd part is that Shockernet is the only site that acts this way. I use Firefox on my personal machines and dn't have any issues wth them. I haven't found anybody that has/knows a solution.
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

If you go to Tools --> Internet Options --> Security, is your "Enable Protected Mode" checked or unchecked?

Did some research I couldn't ever find an actual solution, but some people have suggested it is an add-on issue for IE (such as toolbars) like Kung said. Try and see if running IE with no add-ons solves the issue. To access that go to:

            Start - > Programs - > Accessories - > System Tools - > Internet Explorer (no add-ons)

Looks like the no add-ons approach did the trick - thanks @kai: and @Kung Wu:!

                  I
hd already done the no add-on routine per @kai: and it is still borked for me. @Kung Wu: ,the enable protected mode box is checked. If they would let me use Firefox I wouldn't have any reason to whine. I think tey are just tring to keep me from posting during office hours. Thanks for the effort guys.

Try unchecking, if you are able, and restart your browser and see if it's better.

It's probably getting bogged down doing spell check. Do you have Windows 10. You can turn spell check off. I haven't tried it.

When I start typing, it's constantly putting the red line under each word until it recognizes a correctly spelled word. If I typed too fast, I'll get skipped letters.

                        I
unchecked the box an rebooted and as you can see It hasn't made any difference. Ilike te random capital I that ithas started using. IE seems to think I am in grave danger based on te number of boxes tha have popped up to warn me tha the box Is now unchecked.
Oh well. Looks like I will just slow down nd edit every post I make frm thismachine. Thanks for te helpful efforts, guys.

Ifthat was th case it should bog down everytime. It only does this on Shockernet. I'm active on several shooting forums, sabremetric stes and other school fan sites. Thisis the only one that does this.

That looks kind of like the middle school writing I see on a regular basis! Does IE have a "middle school crappy writing" filter?

On my pad, which I use 90% of the time for SN, occasionally I get posts with yellow background and white type. The only way I can read it is highlight like I am going to copy.

                              Anyone know to correct that?
