Around The NCAA - A new forum

I made a new forum called Around The NCAA. The default forum for anything seemed to be Men's Basketball, and it was the only place that was appropriate because we didn't have a general forum for anything sports related, but not WSU related.

So unless a thread directly effects WSU, or WSU is mentioned, or it's something Valley related, if you could put all your threads relating to other teams, conferences, and the NCAA in general in the "Around The NCAA" forum.

Are things really that cluttered in the Men's Basketball forum? We don't want this place turning into the abomination that is Panther Nation, with about 35 different forums, 2/3 of which are empty.

The addition of one forum isn't 35. And yes it makes no sense for a K-State article on Beasley to be in the Shocker Men's basketball forum, and it isn't really off topic material.

If you read the thread, there actually are some points being made in regards to WSU basketball. I just think breaking things up like this creates a little more inconvenience, gives some interesting articles less exposure, and is kinda unnecessary. We've had that same setup for the last 7 years here. I don't think it got too crowded or caused any problems. Everyone knows that anything basketball-related will be in the most popular forum, the men's basketball forum.

And as I type this, I notice a Valley-related topic is now in there. Just seems unnecessary to me.

Count me in the "I don't like it" crowd.

I like the new forum. I wouldn't mind there being another forum under Miscellaneous called "Other Sports" or something like that. Then the threads we have on KC Royals, KC Chiefs, etc in the Off-Topics could be move out of there.

Change is good, but why fix something that was never broken in the first place?

And just because people start talking about how something relates to Shocker basketball, doesn't make it relevant to Shocker basketball. A thread's location is based on the original post of the thread. I guarantee a lot of threads are going to be turned into Shocker talk and relevance to that just because this is a Shocker forum.

You can make comparisons to Panther Nation when I make 10 more forums. Until then, keep calm and carry on.

Yea, as a new member to the form it seemed really odd to have a lawsuit concerning a K-State alum in a WSU Men's Basketball forum. There's no possible way for me to care less about that topic. Kudos to you @_kai_: for making that call
