It looks like this isn't the first time Juan Williams has said something that was deemed inappropriate by one of his employers.

Breaking news, political news, and investigative news reporting from Raw Story's team of journalists and prize-winning investigators.

Juan Williams, the NPR contributor who was fired Thursday after making anti-Muslim comments on Fox News, apologized for "wrong" and "inappropriate" comments about women staffers after a 1991 investigation by The Washington Post, Raw Story has found.

The investigation of Williams' conduct stemmed from multiple occasions on which he made sexually-themed comments to female employees. An article published about the incidents was vague about what comments Williams actually made, though it makes clear that the sexually-oriented remarks came up on numerous occasions -- and that his behavior had allegedly gone on for several years.

It's also apparent that the female staff of The Washington Post was so incensed about how the paper was dealing with it that they brought their concerns to management.

At least seven women went on the record to say that Williams had made inappropriate comments to them.

Hooray....Does that mean that Obama can be fired because he used drugs in college?

Okay. Lets take this a little further. As long as we're all being honest, I guess, about our “Badthink”, I'm wondering--am I the only one who is generally in such a foul mood after waking up early to catch a flight, sitting for hours in traffic, trudging through all those interminable check-in and security lines, taking out the computer, putting it back in, taking it out again, putting it back in again, taking off my shoes, putting them back on again, wading through those evil-tempered, slow-moving crowds and hearing the fifteenth announcement that my flight has been delayed that I often kind of hope there will be a terrorist on board, sometimes even fantasize about this scene in great pleasurable detail, because nothing would feel better at that point than swiftly leaping over the aisle and strangling someone?

Has anyone actually carried through this fantasy to the point of imagining the press conference afterwards in which you humbly explain to an admiring public that no, you're not a hero, you didn't even think twice about it, it was just instinct, really, and you're just glad no one was hurt but the terrorist, and you'd have to confirm this with the authorities, but you'd guess there's still enough left of him that the FBI might be able to get a sample of his DNA if they use one of those special forensic spatulas?

Or am I just a very bad person?

:noidea: Maybe I should consult my psychiatrist…maybe I should retain one….okay….I am lost…..they say....

Sometimes I think, if I were really, really smart, I'd be Maggie.

NPR Boss Who Fired Juan Williams Resigns
Ellen Weiss resigned as senior vice president for news on the same day that NPR's board of directors completed its independent review of the dismissal of Williams. The directors recommended new internal procedures for personnel decisions and disciplinary action.
"She had an executioner's knife for anybody who didn't abide by her way of thinking," he said. "And I think she represented a very ingrown, incestuous culture in that institution that's not open to not only different ways of thinking, but angry at the fact that I would even talk or be on Fox."

I find it interesting that this forum is affiliated with an institution of higher learning when several of the posts sound narrow-minded and uneducated.

I know you won't give my point of view credence unless Rush Limbaugh tells you its okay. Therefore, I won't be posting or viewing any more topics from the Political side of Shockernet.

                      Peace Out.

                        Lame.

So exactly who has the narrow mind?

That looks like the definition of narrow-minded. "I know better than you that you don't want to hear my point of view, couldn't possibly understand it anyway, would only cast aspersions at me, so I'm not going to tell you what it is as you couldn't possibly discuss it. I also don't want to see anyone else's viewpoint, therefore, I'm going to take my ball, er keyboard, and go home". I don't know whether it's uneducated or not, but it does show being miss-informed. Personally, I could care less about Limbaugh.

Civil discourse and peaceful passage of power is a significant part of what makes America great. If one thinks otherwise reflect upon the Bush/Gore debacle in 2000 or even as recent as this week when the US House of Representatives transitioned from Speaker Pelosi and Democratic Party to Speaker Boehner and the Republican Party.
