  • NJ Governor Christie lays it out for teacher

Governor Chris Christie responds to a teacher's question during a town hall meeting at Raritan Township. Discusses the teachers' union and the need for share...

Would he change if he were in Congress or higher?

How would a debate between Pres. Obama and Gov. Christie go?

I especially like his take on speaking his mind. In short, since a Teachers Union official in one county was encouraging people to pray for Christie's death that liberated him so he could say whatever he needed to say without fear of political backlash. I suppose if you believed that their prayers would be answered in the near future, it would be liberating. Why would you worry about what idiotic and greedy union leaders think when you had the chance to do and say the right thing?

Christie to Caller: 'None of Your Business' Where My Kids Go to School
"You know what? First off, it's none of your business," Christie snapped, after being asked to justify how he can impose cuts on the public school system while keeping his own children out of it.

"Secondly," he continued, "I pay $38,000 a year in property taxes for a public school system ... that my wife and I don't choose to utilize, because we believe we've decided as parents that we believe a religious education should be part of our children's everyday education. So we send our children to parochial school."
          There's video in the article.

All my in-laws are NJ teachers and cops (and, by in large they hate this man - why? Well, as I witnessed this weekend, CC is not going to give them anything). CC is right.

(listen to Bob Beckel - I don't care where you think you stand politically - he is incoherent - and typical)

I hate to say this, because I have a man crush on Governor Christie, but the lady didn't ask where his kids went to school.

I understand his anger and frustration though....the endless attacks by the unions are ridiculous.

Ah, Bergen County NJ. I lived there briefly and worked for a Doctor in Bergen Co. This Doctor was also president of the school board and County Sherrif. Oh, and by the way, he was 100% mafia. He was arrested a few years ago for assaulting his opposition in his re-election campaign, but the judge (his cousin) threw the case out for insufficient evidence.

It really doesn't suprise me that the president of the Bergen County Teachers Union would pray for the death of Gov Christie. The local government there has been able to do whatever it wants for decades.

Bergen County? Try Hudson, "brother". Look back at the historical record. What you attest to is not the half of it....

The mentality, the way of life (for 50 plus years, mind you), is the future. Believe me, I was part of a discussion (my wife begged me to keep my mouth shut) about these issues: Her Uncle, a Puerto Rican, and police caption took, what would be my side (but only because what he gets, in benefits, is from the city - CC can't touch him).

Disillled to its essence, this is a moral argument. I can dilate further....but I don't have the time now.

She did try to personalize the attack by insinuating that he's not familiar enough with socialized education based on his own personal decision to choose private education for his kids. So his response to say 'nunya damn business what personal choices I make' is a reasonable response from where I sit.

Obama isn't on medicare so he's not qualified to make decisions about that program, right? Moronological.

I think you meant Ryan. He's the one that wants to change Medicare, not Obama.

My sarcasm wasn't strong enough. Let me try again.

A mayor has never been a fireman, so they can't be qualified to make budget decisions about their fire departments, right? That was the moronological argument put forth by the teacher that called in quizzing Christie.

Side note: Obama did indeed change Medicare _already_. Have a good read. And Ryan proposes to outspend Obama on Medicare in order to save it, as previously posted.

Obama already changed medicare. Didn't you read the story yesterday ? A bill he signed will allow people making up to $64,000 to get free healthcare. Ooppss!

I completely agree with you KW. My point was to not let the frustration of these union idiots cloud the good fight which I believe CC will eventually win, if he can stay consistent and focused.
