I have never understood the draw of banks over a credit union. My wife worked for a bank a couple years ago. We moved our money and services there and I couldn't believe the limits and fees imposed. She moved on after a few months and we immediately went back to our previous credit union.

One thing I did learn while she worked at the bank is that they are constantly lobbying for member-owned institutions to be under the same set of regulations.

I had free checking at Commerce Bank up until June 1st. Now they want $7 a month to just have an account.

      Now I'm bank shopping.............
