  • Find your Ear Muffs - Global Cooling is Coming

Dr. Don Easterbrook, emeritus professor of geology at Western Washington University and author of more than 150 peer-reviewed papers, has unveiled evidence for his prediction that global cooling is coming soon.

“Rather than global warming at a rate of 1 F per decade, records of past natural cycles indicate there may be global cooling for the first few decades of the 21st century to about 2030,” said Easterbrook, speaking on a scientific panel discussion with other climatologists. This, he says, will likely be followed by “global warming from about 2030 to 2060,” which will then be followed by another cooling spell from 2060 to 2090.
Well, since our scientist struggle predicting the weather even a month out, don't mind me if I am skeptical of any prediction (of cooling or warming).

How will Al Gore either hide this from the rest of the world or capitalize on it and make another $100 million?

pretty much cements it as a fully biased article by a fully biased author.

NASA scientists were actually predicting that April would be the warmest on record back in February. Here's the nasa.gov article.

Temperature Trackers Watch Our Watery World Wax and Wane

                  February 23, 2010

Climatologists have long known that human-produced greenhouse gases have been the dominant drivers of Earth's observed warming since the start of the Industrial Revolution. But other factors also affect our planet's temperature. Of these, the ocean plays a dominant role. Its effects helped nudge global temperatures slightly higher in 2009, and, according to NASA scientists, could well contribute to making 2010 the warmest year on record.
Of course, how the data is interpreted is how you get all the different views.

Since we don't have a baseline reference without human effect, you can't conclusively say the warming is the result of human activities. It is entirely possible that the warming would be occurring no matter what we do.

Do you really think that first sentence is true anymore? Those that do already believe it as surely as I believe my Redeemer liveth; Give me a break – how about manipulate the data. The real issue, as far as global warming/cooling/climate change goes is that we have seen a consistent pattern of behavior: scientists making unwarranted politically-motivated claims from the “data” they are supposed to be objectively examining. This is one of the great scandals in recent academic history - the fabrication/manipulation of climate-change evidence.

That we are in a general warming trend isn't hotly disputed by the so-called "deniers" (still a terrible bad-faith word which tells a lot about the people who use it). The question is whether it's outside normal climate variation. We don't know. When we hear that this is the warmest decade "on record" people leave out the reliable record is very short (they also leave out other things).

Then they respond, "Oh, no, the record goes back a thousand years." But now that thousand-year claim is now officially unreliable. That doesn't mean global warming is untrue, we do know that the carbon molecule has certain properties and it is a plausible hypothesis that it is contributing to global warming. But it is still just a hypothesis. The effect is much better understood than the cause.

To me this reveals that some people don’t really much care if the science is right or wrong. Because they believe it is a useful myth to drive the organization of our society and political economy in directions they favor. And that is wrong and it is certainly not science.

It should be blindingly obvious that public trust in scientists that push the climate agenda, their cheerleaders, etc. and in the conclusions they come to regarding global warming/cooling/climate change would and should slip as a result. And this damage was done by scientists as well as to scientists.
