  • America the Superpower "whether we like it or not"

Is it just me. OR does he sound disapponited that the USA is the world only superpower. Like that to bad and I got to fix that! Obama: "Whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower, and when conflicts break out, we get pulled into it" longer version on the clip

It would be better if someone else was paying the bills other than the one economic superpower. The flippin EEC ought to be paying more for the worlds ills as well. I would think that China has to be considered a military superpower at the present time.

But what we can make sure of is, is that we are constantly present, constantly engaged, and setting out very clearly to both sides our belief that not only is it in the interests of each party to resolve these conflicts but it's also in the interest of the United States. It is a vital national security interest of the United States to reduce these conflicts because whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower, and when conflicts break out, one way or another we get pulled into them. And that ends up costing us significantly in terms of both blood and treasure.
I thought it best if the discussion was put into context.

Because, gee, who takes things out of context and makes mountains out of molehills but people without solid arguments?

I see no issue at all with what the President said. He doesn't like our troops dying, he doesn't like our deficit increasing, so doing what we can to minimize the conflicts we must, like it or not, become a part of is in our best interest.

How can anyone argue with that, much less label it "unAmerican"?
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.
