Such actions could "throw fuel in the fire of radicals," said left liberal nutjob and government funded professor Joseph Thai.

I tend to agree with the guy that can't hold a job in the real world. The radicals in Washington DC have MORE than enough fuel already thrown on the fire.......of course, they just want to collect an additional .15 per gallon on it.

The reason we are at this point is that the people did not maintain their power over government and instead, now fear it.

It's supposed to be the other way around. And while I don't necessarily advocate a hostile overthrow, if the formation of state militias is part of what it takes to reverse the trend, so be it.

I will probably get hammered for this, but Lincoln's war was a major step toward what we have now. He pretty much told the states they had no real right to self-determination. That was 150 years ago. How long will it take for the states to feel as free as they once did?

Of course we don't want to become a third world country and turn to violence to settle our political differences. That is why our country has been great to this point, our differences have been settle through the 3 branches (executive, legislative and judicial).

But when you see what the politicians are doing to this country (democratic and republican) it makes you sad.

Didn't Al Gore invent the internet? So, it's Al Gore's fault.

I wonder if those that want to form these new volunteer Militia know who will be the head of them.

secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the U. S.

Protecting their state against the federal government would not be considered "actual Service of the United States".

You forgot to include the legislative responsibility:

                    "To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

I wonder if the formation of militias to defend states against an over-reaching federal government is any worse than this guy and his minions:

Do the people in Beavertown really want an imbecile who is attempting to secretly infiltrate an organization and stealing people's private information by shouting it from the rooftops to be teaching their kids?

I wonder how many copies of Rules for Radicals this guy has?

On Tuesday morning, the school district sent out a district-wide “media advisory” in which it declared its support of Levin. It described the teacher as a “leader of an anti-tea party organization” and called the controversy surrounding him a matter of free speech that should not be discussed with members of the press.

“What this teacher does in his private time is his private personal business. So when he’s not in school, that’s his personal time and there’s just not a lot we can do. This is an issue of free speech,” Wheeler told FoxNews.com on Tuesday.
I also wonder if their response would be the same if a teacher was forming a militia?

Clinton Chides 'Right-Wing Media,' Warns Government 'Demonization' Fuels Threats

Maybe I've missed something, but when was the last "right-wing" violence? The Tea Party has been very outspoken but civil. I can't recall any violence or even arrests off the top of my head. Those things are usually reserved for some of the way far lefties.

The Tiller murder comes to mind. And some of the anti-abortion protests in front of the Tiller clinic weren't the most civil.
