Brownback named in complaint about C Street House

Basically the complaint is that Brownback is living in lodging that is much below market rate (e.g. he's paying $950 versus the market rate is $1,700 to 4,000 per month).

What is somewhat alarming is his involvement with a religious organization called the Fellowship or "the family".

What is probably more concerning is the relationships of some Kansas politicians to "the family". From some little research seems to be more of a cult wrapped in Christianity to draw power brokers in.

I just read the alternet link, the interview with the undercover, not undercover journalist. I'm not buying much of what he says. If this group were attempting to be secret and invisible, there is no way they would let a guy they know isn't part of their organization have access to the documents he claims to have seen, nor see things like an interview with a prospective member (Tiarht, who I have no intention of voting for).

I don't doubt this organization exists, and if they are taking some of the positions this guy claims, that is troubling and I would be very hesitant to support anyone with direct ties to it. I'm just not convinced that this guy was given the access he says he had. Seeing the Tiahrt "interview" clinched it, in my mind.

Christ was not secretive, nor did he seek or ask his followers to seek political power. If this group's goal is to bring like-minded Christians together to discuss and debate their faith as it relates to their obligation to represent their constituents, I have no problem than that. If it's to gain power over people, I have a big problem with that.

I agree totally.

I don't really know much about this organization and it very well may be on the up and up - that is why I post several links of information I found on them. But then again Christian organization are generally willing to discuss their doctrines - so far I haven't found anything on this organizations. Hopefully other might have other links or information.
