Brown is clearly not an ideologue (I wrote before – he is not a “down-the-line” conservative), which when one actually has to govern is a good quality to have. The more I hear from Brown and read about him, I have become increasingly convinced he is one politician who is genuine – what you see is what you get….period. Even though, in the future, I might disagree with Brown on certain issues, if he were my Senator – I certainly could live that because he appears to be open to, and respectful of, all points of view and is willing to recalibrate when necessary.
IF this guy plays his cards right – which at this point, in my judgment, means representing the people of Massachusetts well and resisting the temptation to campaign nationally too much, etc. he has a future…he won’t be a “flash in the pan”.
Just so. I don’t know about anyone else but that statement certainly resonates with me.

Mr. Brown says it frustrates him that too many politicians still believe that people will be fooled by what they're proposing. "People aren't stupid, and leaders should figure out they're better informed now than ever." Perhaps that explains how Scott Brown was able to pull off his improbable Cinderella story.
