Just got voted down by the House Tax Committee at least for now. We'll see what happens and I know Gov. Parkinson really seemed to want this. Considering the state of the economy right now I don't see how raising taxes on people who are having a difficult enough time is the answer. How 'bout the State stop wasting money instead?

I was wondering why the Dept of Revenue does not more actively pursue people with out of state tags on their vehicles. I see alot of oklahoma (of which many are rentals) and texas plates going to work each morning. Its just amazing to me that these people have gotten up early and driven from those states just so they can join the morning rush. Alot of these cars are non qualifiers in the cash for clunkers program if you get my drift.
Of course far be it from me to point out that many if not ALL of the local scrap dealers whose last names end in Marks drive black suburbans with texas plates and always have a handicap hanger on their rear view mirrors. :-x
