UN climate chief admits mistake on Global Warming

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said yesterday that the prediction in its landmark 2007 report was “poorly substantiated” and resulted from a lapse in standards. “In drafting the paragraph in question the clear and well-established standards of evidence, required by the IPCC procedures, were not applied properly,” the panel said.

I read that in the NYT this morning on the subway. It is amusing. Interestingly, according to Aljazeera, as reported by the NYT, he also quotes Noam Chomsky for good measure.

“Noam Chomsky was correct when he compared the U.S. policies to those of the Mafia,” Al Jazeera quoted Mr. bin Laden as saying. “They are the true terrorists and therefore we should refrain from dealing in the U.S. dollar and should try to get rid of this currency as early as possible.”

Stray thoughts: I wonder if he is in favor of beheading carbon emitters? Maybe I can get 72 virgins if I promise to weatherstrip my apartment or if I install solar panels (although I am not sure how that would work in my case)….also I wonder if Bin Laden is now refusing "blood money” from the climate criminals in Saudi Arabia who fund his operation? All questions I pondered during my morning commute.

I am waiting to hear or read someone arguing (any predictions who) that the real reason "they" hate "us" is climate change. It is not freedom, certainly not an American empire, or licentiousness, or Israel. No, no, no…..all of these jihadi nutters are blowing themselves up to save the polar bear. :good:

I would say I have about a half-hour or so commute but I usually read a book. However, I do, from time to time, read the NYT (I got it free from the doorman today!!!)….but faster than I used to. :)
