Russians black hats hacked into the Hadley Climate Research Unit in UK and have started exposing sensitive documents and e-mails.

Some of the old emails from scientists made public apparently make references to things like “hid[ing] the decline,” referring to global temperature series and different ways to slice and dice climate data.

James Delingpole at the Telegraph warns that

“the final nail in the coffin of ‘Anthropogenic Global Warming’” but adds “there are too many vested interests in AGW, with far too much to lose either in terms of reputation or money, for this to end without a bitter fight.”

Consider all the economic stimulus generated by this hoax. Why, Al Gore would have had to invent another internet if he wouldn't have invented global warming. Or he'd be a door greeter at Wal-Mart.

Door greeters cannot afford a Gulfstream V so you know he won't let the myth die without a fight.

My daughter, who is a student at KSU, told me that her chemistry professor, said "this global warming thing is all made up, there is no proof of global warming".

Finally, people are seeing that this has been a huge farse, so Al Gore and his buddies can make a bunch of money off of it. Al won't shut up (he has to much to lose), but this helps prove how much of an idiot he is. Which many of us already knew. Now maybe we can get Washington to use that energy to focus on real problems.

Expanding the welfare state, destroying the free market, ruining health care, legalizing dope, making sure you and I (and everyone else) pay their fair share to ensure government sponsored murdering of the unborn for anyone that can't afford it, rewriting the constitution to fit the ideals of Obama, Reid and Pelosi and ignoring the needs of our military fighting men and women while protecting the rights of murdering terrorists like KSM.

Now for the good news, she is has been accepted to WSU! She will be a Shocker next school year and as she has said, "to make her Daddy proud".

These e-mails, if shown to be legitimate, appear to confirm why these “scientists” have such an extreme aversion to peer review and debate – the primary reason why I have always had great difficulty taking the increasingly hysterical declarations about our impending doom (unless we radically remake society) seriously.

Professor Phil Jones, the head of the Climate Research Unit, and professor Michael E. Mann at Pennsylvania State University, who has been an important scientist in the climate debate, have come under particular scrutiny. Among his e-mails, Mr. Jones talked to Mr. Mann about the "trick of adding in the real temps to each series ... to hide the decline [in temperature]."

Mr. Jones told Mr. Mann: "If they ever hear there is a Freedom of Information Act now in the UK, I think I'll delete the file rather than send to anyone" and, "We also have a data protection act, which I will hide behind."

In another e-mail, Mr. Jones told Mr. Mann, professor Malcolm K. Hughes of the University of Arizona and professor Raymond S. Bradley of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst: "I'm getting hassled by a couple of people to release the CRU station temperature data. Don't any of you three tell anybody that the UK has a Freedom of Information Act!"

Another professor at the Climate Research Unit, Tim Osborn, discussed in e-mails how truncating a data series can hide a cooling trend that otherwise would be seen in the results. Mr. Mann sent Mr. Osborn an e-mail saying that the results he was sending shouldn't be shown to others because the data support critics of global warming.

What seems indisputable at this point is that the global-warming industry (and it is an industry) is suffused to its core with groupthink and bad faith. It is clear that the scientists were more interested in punishing dissenters and constructing a public relations campaign than they were in actual science.

A lot of us suspected as much all along. After all anyone who questioned the “consensus”, including on this board, were treated as if they had some sort of mental disease – and were therefore not competent to opine on the subject.
