How is that working in the most-heavily taxed states in the nation? California anyone? How's that balance sheet looking? New Jersey, with people moving out left and right to avoid the high taxes there?

Which city, state or country has taxed itself into prosperity?

Given the Reagan tax cuts, why wasn't all that money saved? Seems to me plenty was spent by individuals and invested by companies into creating real jobs, not the phony, over-inflated Ministry of Truth kind that lead you to believe that there was a 5,756 job impact on fixing a water pipe in a South Dakota Air Force base.

I guess no one should be surprised that MSNBC propaganda regurgitation channel would hop on this news.

      Typo...

Someone at MSNBC needs to become more familiar with this thing the rest of us ejumacated fools call the decimal system.

I did some digging, and the project is $959,300.00. Yeah, as in $1 million, not $1 billion.

As for the quoted 5756 new jobs, I have no idea where MSNBC got this number, but it just goes to prove that this bit of "research" was done on some simplistic spreadsheet with a generic formula. It also shows the geographic beneficiary being Douglas County Nebraska (which is Omaha), for the simple fact that's where that particular region's US Army Corp of Eng office is located. More fabulouso accuracy from the brainiacs.

I hear 30 jobs were "created or saved" in the 15th Congressional District in the state of Arizona.

Oddly, there is no such district in Arizona.

A district in CT reported that 25 jobs were created or saved

Oddly, that District received $0 in stimulus money.

Elsewhere, it was reported that 5 jobs were created.

Oddly, those 5 jobs were created to count the jobs that might be created or saved.

It's all available on the Ministry of Truth's website, recovery.gov

The last one is so CLASSIC. If it wasn't so sad, it would be laugh out loud funny.

And you want these clowns running 1/6th of our economy?

The complete ineptness being demonstrated by this administration - in less than a year - is mind-boggling.

They couldn't even understand the implications of reducing workers' tax withholdings. Or maybe they fully understood. In either case, it's scary.

So real I'm afraid to re-read it. The way the pigs artfully used double-speak to change the entire dynamic of their society is coming true as well.
                        • Terrorism is now called "man-caused disaster".
Terrorists are now called "non-enemy combatants" or some such convoluted nonsense.
The War on Terror is now called the "Overseas Contingency Operation".
The Government Option was re-branded as the Public Option.
Health Care Reform was re-branded Health Insurance Reform.
Abortion is now "Women's Privacy Issue".

By destroying previously-understood word associations, the ruling class furthers their efforts at gaining more control and more power.

For those who pay attention, a change in terminology won't have much affect. However the wordsmiths are betting that the shift will desensitize the populace, allowing them to enact their agenda with much less scrutiny.

Saul Alinsky would be proud and George Orwell books would no longer be in the fiction section of the bookstore.

As a child, I was confused and bewildered with Animal Farm.

As a young adult, it became clear to me what the author was saying. As an older adult, it scares the bejeebers out of me......while making me sick to my stomach.

Well at least people didnt fall for the renaming of amnesty as "comprehensive immigration reform".

Btw - does anyone watch Glenn Beck? His description of the financial meltdown is a must see.

Maybe they could make serious 3rd party run at it. In keeping with their common-sense approach to issues they could dub themselves "The No Sh*t Ticket". Elitists would hate it, America would love it.

After all, that's precisely what American voters are clamoring for. The Truth. Those two are probably the closest we could come to that circumstance. They're a heck of a lot closer to the "Change You Can Believe In" moniker adopted by the current stock of Stalinists we have in place.

Here's another juicy one from Democratic strategist Pat Caddell:

“The American people want the spending to stop. The argument I’ve heard from the White House is Orwellian — that the way to solve the deficit is to spend another trillion on health care and saying ‘we know how to do it.’ President Obama said he would veto anything that wasn’t deficit-neutral. Does anyone believe that?
