You're right...nothing but racial-based hatred there.
I wish someone would hate me like that.
I think it could be argued that the article is more critical of the electorate than the President. A valid point, imho, as a great portion of the electorate is far less intelligent than the President.
You guys on the left HAVE to stop making things up to defend your side. There is truth out there.....look hard and you just might find it.

What we need is ACTION, as the President said in his speech to the UN, which has been praised by many, but also to quote him "Speeches are not going to solve our problems" and I think putting promises in speeches make solving the problems he promised to fix harder.
Biggest thing limiting America right now is the "Finger Pointing" he, again, mentioned in his speech to the UN. The US, and its people, are so into this "Who's fault is it, it cant be ours" that they lose sight of the big picture, and in turn open themselves up to the actions of extremeist to tear us apart, which they have been doing effectively since the 1993 WTC bombing. The most disturbing is that a jury of Americans in NY found the Port Authority 68% to blame and the terrorist who plotted, planned, and executed the bombing which killed 6 and injured over 1,000 Americans only 32% to blame. This ruling made it possible for the families of the victims to recieve monetary settlements from an entity full of those who VOLUNTEER to protect others and put thier lifes on the line.
Since that day, extremeist have realized that even we, Americans, blame Bush, Congress, the Senate, the FBI, CIA, NSA, everyone but those who have committed these unfathomable acts. These acts are even more unfathomable. and not those actually carrying them out
I am a firm believer in limiting government power, but the power should lie with us. The people. Those who can say and do what is necesary to change things that need to be changed, and the knowledge that they can. We all need to step back and realize what's important, and its not a system that relies on companies that employ 60,000 people that can fail because the power of a few can collapse it. It needs to be those small drug stores where the pharmacist knows you, and your kids by names, and what meds you are taking. The guy up the block who runs the grocery store. Your cousin who bombards you every family get together about updating your insurance, and the hardware store owned by those who will go in and open up Christmas morning to get you a pump for your well that went out the night before, and take 2 hours out of thier holiday to go help you install it.
Call me crazy, old fashioned, whatever. I still shop at a small grocery store in Colwich, buy my insurance through a guy who my family has known as long as I was alive, and shop at TMC's in Maize because of Tom and Nancy, who I have known since I was little.
Left, right, central, northern, southern, proletariat and the bourgeoisie, we are all in need of change. It doesn't come from Washington, it comes from ourselves. We give the power, through our votes, money, etc. It is us that needs to take action, and stop expecting someone else to do it for us. We need to end the "I am owed something" The only ones owed anything are those that protect and serve us in the military, fire, police, EMS, etc to serve and protect us.
Welfare should come with a work requirement. Help with house and childcare while you go to work to HELP support your family. No one should be able to stay home all day, live in a nice home they don't have to pay for, eat food they don't have to pay for, take sick kids to a doctor they don't have to pay for, and drop thier kids off at a childcare they don't have to pay for just to go back home on thier duff while some veterans are living on the street without the ability to get those benefits because they dont' meet certain "AFFIRMITIVE ACTION" guidelines, or have a residence in a designated area.

DSB,
Wow. I think I agree with you, for the most part, except that bit about the President’s U.N. speech. Here is one of my favorite essays of all time that you might enjoy too, it was published in 1961, and still applicable today (you, sort of, reminded me of it):
Why Don't We Complain?
A nice passage, among many:
Every year, whether the Republican or the Democratic Party is in office, more and more power drains away from the individual to feed vast reservoirs in far-off places; and we have less and less say about the shape of events which shape our future. From this alienation of personal power comes the sense of resignation with which we accept the political dispensations of a powerful government whose hold upon us continues to increase.
