  • Why are Liberals Still Angry?

    excerpts

Democrats having complete control of the government, you’d think liberals could be dismissive of conservatives and be calm themselves. But no, they’re still crazy angry. Maybe even angrier than before. Biting-fingers-off angry. They’re screeching about how all the people opposed to Obama are racists and neo-Nazis and stupid, and they’re using sexual slurs against protesters and boycotting everyone who disagrees with them. They’re still nuts, but why?

See things from their point of view. The most fundamental principle liberals have is that they are all very, very smart, and everyone should listen to them. Nothing angers them more than something that challenges them to reexamine that core tenet. And that’s why they were so delighted by the election of President Obama and further wins in the House and Senate. For a moment they thought the American people had recognized liberals as their superiors and said to them: “Please! Smart people! Lead us and tell us what to do!”

But now we can see the problem. After Barack Obama was elected, he started doing specific things. Liberal things. No one voted for that, so Obama’s approval ratings have dropped faster than those of any president before him. And you can see why liberals are so frustrated. They had a charismatic liberal overwhelmingly elected with Democratic majorities, and even he is utterly failing to sell liberalism to the American people.

The far-left (like the Kos Kids) didn’t even like Obama in the beginning of the Democratic primary; they liked Edwards (because of how smart they are). Now Obama has shown that he’s not the most adept politician, but he will eventually figure out that he’s going to have to do a few centrist-to-right-leaning things if he doesn’t want everyone (who matters) to hate him.

Americans don’t like liberalism. Obama was only elected because Americans like people who say happy things, but it was in no way meant as an endorsement of liberalism. As liberals start to realize this, they’re only going to get screechier and angrier. So we might as well figure out a way to use that.

Great "original" thought you had there. At least you're not just cutting and pasting something. It is nice to see that you can form your own thoughts. I have a hard time taking something serious that is from "pajama media".

That's rich. The last idea that either of the last 2 posters had, especially SC as 11 is both polite and somewhat thoughtful whilst being totally off base, is still swirling in the toilet.

Don't kill the messenger. I can't help if it is the truth. :D

With the liberals having control I'm waiting for "heaven on earth" to emerge any day now. Though my question is when it doesn't - will you still be blaming George Bush?

Let me get this straight, the liberal statist view is to either:

A: Work your ass off and give most of what you make and own to some sort of government entity so they can give it to someone else that has no job but four televisions and can't get off the sofa to make an effort to provide for themselves or

B: Become one of the people with four Televisions that refuses to provide for themselves and insists on the government crack hand outs because you can't get your ass off the sofa.

My question is without A you can't have B so how long will the A category people continue to have their efforts stolen from them?

That is the fundamental flaw of Obama-nomics. As Margaret Thatcher once said, IIRC, "Socialism is great until you run out of other people's money."

His math just won't work. Increasing spending while tax revenues are decreasing shows complete disregard for common sense. It reinforces the feeling that money is being spent to ensure government and/or political power.

Why else would you pass a stimulus bill and then not spend the money? It was always intended to be used for political payback, and was merely sold to the taxpayers as immediate economic salvation. Classic trojan horse ploy, just like health care reform legislation. The real agenda doesn't involve lowering costs or cutting the waste. Liberals have wanted this kind of package for 50 years and it's all about controlling the population because they are smarter than everyone and know what's best for us.

The sooner we succumb to their control, from which they exempt themselves, the better off we will all be, so the story goes.
