    • I tended to give him the benefit of the doubt on the first two accounts, but when a woman claims she has had an ongoing 13 year affair with him, that if not true, would be rather easy to blast out of the water. It is not the affair that matters, its the not coming out when caught with your pants down and admiting it, that does these people in.

What amazes me in this age and time and age is how can a very successful and smart man/woman imagine that all of this **** is not going to come out? Obviously, this stops a lot of good people from running for office. Better think twice if you ever even cheated on a test or committed some other such dastardly deed.

Obama is so beatable and yet the Republicans have been unable to field a single person who stands out head and shoulders above the crowd. The only thing that really matters is to select the one individual who has the best chance to overthrow Obama.

Nah, it'd be better to have 4 more years of Obama and prove a point. We'd be happier, wouldn't we?

          • The only ones who can lose this election to Obama is the Republicans.

Not better, but the real quality guys in the republican party are setting this one out because they know they are going to be handicapped due to money imbalance and Obama will be re-elected.

Problem with Gingrich is he presents a choice and he is likely to blow up to democrats and independents. Romney is a moderate who probably has the best chance because he is so liberal liberals and independents might vote for him. but the conservatives want anybody, anybody besides Romney - except they are running out candidates. This is really Obama race to lose - there are no Reagan's out there.

I agree with some of your premise. But while Romney is probably more moderate than the other candidates, he isn't liberal. In my opinion, he is still a conservative economically but to win in the northeast, he couldn't be unbending on all issues. There is no doubt that moderates and independents are looking to a viable alternative to Obama. This gets back to my original premise that with the economy that we currently have, the only way Republicans can lose is if they give it away.

That's one of the big advantages to being the Prez, and they all have done it. You can be on the road campaigning and enriching your donations for the final battle, while the opposing party's candidates are stabbing each other in all their exposed and unexposed body parts, while at the same time gaining great ammo to use against the final embattered, bloody, and scared eventual oppostion winner.

Mitt doesn’t care much for the great state of Texas or Houston as on one visit to the city he said, “This is what happens when you don’t have zoning.”

He is a believer in global warming and supports Cap and Trade if it is done globally as opposed to just nationally.

Mitt helped raise money for Planned Parenthood.

Romney changed his rhetoric on Gay Rights after having made overtures toward the Log Cabin Republicans in exchange for their endorsement.* They were none too pleased.

Proof that Romney is both a true politician and a bothersome oaf comes beautifully packaged in his succinct yet immature usage of the English language on Gun Control.* “Weapons of unusual lethality?” Really?

Romney picked more Democrats than Republicans when the time came to pick judicial nominees.* This will obviously be different when the time comes to pick Supreme Court Nominees, of course.

Sen. Scott Brown supports Romney’s defense of RomneyCare calling it “courageous.”
Exactly how is he conservative again?

You’d think that given the economy, jobs, and the present angst about the direction of the country that the GOP would have an easy path to victory. You would be wrong. You forget the electoral college. The vote is coming down to a handful of states and Barack Obama still maintains the advantage of incumbency and not terribly terrible polling in those swing states.

Mitt Romney, on the other hand, is a man devoid of any principles other than getting himself elected. As much as the American public does not like Barack Obama, they loath a man so fueled with ambition that he will say or do anything to get himself elected. Mitt Romney is that man.
There is no issue I can find on which Mitt Romney has not taken both sides. He is neither liberal nor conservative. He is simply unprincipled. The man has no core beliefs other than in himself. You want him to be tough? He’ll be tough. You want him to be sensitive? He’ll be sensitive. You want him to be for killing the unborn? He’ll go all in on abortion rights until he wants to run for an office where it is not in his advantage.
I will not vote for Romney (not that it going to matter in Kansas anyway). It will be better for Conservative to have a democrat to rally around in the White House and improve the numbers in the house and take back the senate. That is where real change can take place.

I think that with the unwillingness of the Republican Party to work together, the democrats could control the Presidency for an extended period of time. If you think moderate democrats will work with Republicans on anything of substance, you're dreaming. The divided Republicans will be on there own(plural). Government spending will definitely go up.
