It's great to hear about what has been happening in your life.

A few words about hypnosis. I've studied hypnosis for almost 40 years and used it in numerous situations. Yes, there are studies that 'prove' that some people can't be hypnotised. However, close review shows that what the studies really 'prove' is that a certain percentage cannot be hypnotised by a grad student reading a standardized induction in a controlled lab situation. That's how research studies are done.

For the last 15 years, I have coached CEOs around the world and in every meeting I used altered states and hypnotic language. Only once did I ever use a formal 'induction' and that was for a demonstration. Really good hypnotists do most of the actual change work BEFORE the formal 'trance' ever begins, and many never use a formal induction. Hypnotic language is about setting presuppositions in place below the threshold of awareness. Thus, the will has nothing to push back against. You'd agree that this might be effective, wouldn't you?

The scary thing is that Dems, and Obama in particular, have gone to school on hypnotic language. The Clintons were the first I saw to use these language patterns. I personally know of several 'specialists' who worked with the Clintons on their hypnotic language. You may remember that during the run up to impeachment, both Bill and Hillary used the phrase, "Everyone needs to just sit back and take a deep breath." This instruction to the unconscious was just the first in a series of hypnotic language patterns they used, designed to subtly shift emotions and opinions. Understand, this is not about massive mind control but about transparently maximizing influence. (Maybe this is the transparency Obama is always talking about?)

Unfortunately, the real master of this is Obama. During the campaign a 60-page paper circulated among hypnosis people on the internet that studied several Obama speeches word-by-word showing his use of these hypnotic patterns. He is very good at what he does. By the way, part of his reason for using a teleprompter is that he and his staff can write out very specific language patterns ahead of time and deliver them smoothly and accurately. As he creates altered states with his language about fuzzy stuff like fairness, and unity, and hope, and change; he uses phrases like "Yes, we can!" as an anchor -- a sort of post-hypnotic trigger to reignite those feelings whenever he wants.

Fortunately, as time passes and these altered states don't match real experience, many will begin to awaken from their trance, much as you, Robin, have done.
