It looks like it's headed that way.
    You've been waterboarded before, Sub?
I'd take it over some of the stuff I had to do.

Does it cause long term physical or psychological problems? Most of this stuff doesn't. A few might be debated. Most of what they list as "torture" is BS.
I'm sure most people have seen something similar to this before.

You know what? Probably not, but then again he isn't running around trying to assassinate innocent civilians and our troops. If you don't want to be waterboarded here's a hint....lay down your arms and don't pick on the big dog.

Some of you can't figure this out....these evil people play by a different set of rules....trying to do everything "right" is what caused the debacle in Vietnam. Take the fight to them. They started it....only holding the hands of our armed forces and "gatherers" will keep us from ending it.

Your boy just made us a hell of a lot weaker with this little stunt.

And if you want to see a real revolution, try taking down some of our guys with politically motivated, utterly false and trumped up charges of torture.

By the way, don't you ACLU cronies have something better to do with your time, and something that you are far better at, like defending NAMBLA?

Based on what method of proof? Many of these people have proven to have been nothing more than in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Here's what you can't figure out. You purport that we have some moral superiority over these people and advocate actions which are morally inferior to the strata you claim we occupy in just one paragraph.

You care to argue against yourself some more?

"Our" guys? Who are "our" guys? You mean the people who were doing this are all God-fearing, global-warming and evolution non-believin, don't give a damn about anyone else theorizing, 'publicans just like you?

          Give me a break.

These poor schlubs are just following orders. And, contrary to what the Geneva conventions would mandate (you know, us being such a civilized country and all, we've bound ourselves to follow a code of morality), charges are NOT being pressed against any of the individuals who carried this out. Why? Because they were merely following orders. Orders that came from up on high, way beyond their pay-grade.

Of course, had you read the news stories on the subject that have been all over today, you would of known that.

This doesn't even get into the crux of the deal, that torture just doesn't work; it generates more false information than it does true.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Richard Armitage who served as chief deputy to former Secretary of State Colin Powell at the State Department under President Bush, told Al Jazeera English in an interview to be aired Thursday that he “did not know…that torture was going on” in the Bush administration. In retrospect, if he knew about the mistreatment, Armitage said he would have resigned:

Armitage has previously been waterboarded as part of SERE training, saying in 2008 that he “absolutely” believes the practice is torture. “I’m ashamed that we’re even having this discussion,” he said of the debate over torture. Armitage left the administration after then-President George W. Bush was re-elected in 2004. He followed Powell out the door at State.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And when you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you.
                -- Friedrich Nietzche
If cruelty is no longer declared unlawful, but instead is applied as a matter of policy, it alters the fundamental relationship of man to government. It destroys the whole notion of individual rights. The Constitution recognizes that man has an inherent right, not bestowed by the state or laws, to personal dignity, including the right to be free of cruelty. It applies to all human beings, not just in America -- even those designated as 'unlawful enemy combatants.' If you make this exception the whole Constitution crumbles.
                - - Alberto J. Mora, former Navy General Counsel

Im proud of our President for having the courage to release these, but we must use every extent of our laws to prosecute the perpetraters. It saddens me that so many dont know right from wrong.

                -- Simon Wiesenthal

Saying that “our ideals give us the strength and moral high ground” to combat terrorism, President Obama signed executive orders Thursday ending the Central Intelligence Agency’s secret overseas prisons, banning coercive interrogation methods and closing the Guantánamo Bay detention camp within a year.

Here are a few thoughts on torture from Presidents to famous Senators etc. (You might only read the one from Ronald Reagan)

Finally please spare me the oh wait until they blow up your mother posts. Acting like an uncivilized animal makes you one.

If Royal says I deserve it, then I will accept it and take responsibility. I think I attacked groups of people. Imho, they need it.

Common sense is fading away. Personal responsibility is all but gone.

Our President is going around to a world that OWES THIS COUNTRY EVERYTHING and saying it's our fault and we're sorry. Speak for yourself, I am sorry for nothing.

Things are screwed up.....the only question is how bad are they going to get before right thinking Americans straighten things out?

                                RJL and KC,

I am an old soldier...I know a little about fighting. If there was anyway that I could have only fought for the people who appreciated my service I would certainly choose that now. There are times when I wish that all the true enemies of America and our constitution were all foreigners so I could have had a chance to make a real difference.

You guys sicken me...may the Lord have mercy on you both!

I am going to go pray for forgiveness for what I am thinking you deserve right now.

Guys, don't ever forget that some things are worth fighting for. Wouldn't it be fitting if the next terror attack only harmed those who feel George W Bush overstepped his bounds in protecting us?

You guys go ahead and feel morally superior on your way to assuming room temperature because the Muslim terrorist who will kill you the first chance they get, don't care if you and I disagree about intelligence gathering activities.

Obama and the rest of you morons have zero credibility and zero respect from many old soldiers like me. If you think running around the world and reading I'm sorry and America sucks from a teleprompter, makes any difference to a world that only respects and understands power, you are a fool.

Go ahead and mock me for my rant...sadly, it is guys like me who earned you that right. :-x
