These events need a new thread of their own ...

UC Berkeley liberal: "Hey guys, a gay conservative is going to give a talk at our university. Let's limit his right to speech and attack random cars that drive by and bash up some local businesses!"

The guy who was supposed to speak was on with Tucker last night and had some interesting things to say. Like how a few days before these events the admin tell the sponsoring student groups that have to provide and pay for security. They do this like 5 days out in hopes the group won't be able to pay for it, so the event gets cancelled. Fortunately private doners usually are able to help out.

He also went on to say that those protests at Mizzou really hurt new student attendance. Causing them to close a couple dorms.

Unfortunately, it's not just the liberals trying to limit free speech. This morning, I noted on my LinkedIn feed, that a person was commenting regards some of these protests (he was a conservative), that the election was over and people should just shut up and accept it.

While I condone the burning, looting and pillaging that is going on at some of these protests, I think it's rather dangerous to be voicing opinions that a person ought to be denied their freedom of speech, no matter which side they come from. Even if we may think they're whining.

But in all situations, I think anyone disagreeing with another's political opinion ought to try to do it in a polite and respectful way. Watching the election this fall really opened my eyes up as to how the political operatives on both sides operate in a way that divides and inflames us. It wasn't a pretty picture and it made me realize that we should be more civil to anyone who disagrees with us, even if the person disagreeing with us is making an ass out of themselves.

I just find the irony somewhat comical. They claim this guy speaking is Hitler, yet they are covering their faces and roving in mobs disrupting free speech, and violently attacking bystanders.

I think that it's just a matter of time before the Milo side people bring a comparable force and **** goes South real fast...

But perhaps he sees a better outcome to just let these protesters do what they do and illustrate exactly who the left is.

I think we ought to reward the hooligans who use this as an excuse to vandalize and damage the property of others, many of whom may be sympathetic to the cause that gave them that excuse in the first place. I would award them with a free one-way ticket to the Crossbar Hotel and Suites where they will receive three meals a day and a place to sleep. One big plus in awarding them this prize is it also frees up a room in the parent's home (or the basement).

OK, so I misspoke, didn't have my coffee. :) Personally, I think these folks are professional agitators looking for an excuse to commit criminal mischief and also the crime of theft.

I agree. These new masked types, if I were to guess, are your typical parents basement crowd. I think they are a coddled bunch that have been fed some grade A B.S. along the way, or are doing this for the sake of doing it and just havent had any one stop them or meted out any punishment for their actions.

There's a really big difference between somebody commenting on a LinkedIn feed that people should shut up and stop whining about the election outcome from "anti-fascists" protesters using fascist tactics to literally silence free speech. One was putting forth an opinion that was not hindering another's free speech, while the other was actually preventing free speech by rioting until the Milo Yiannopoulis college event was cancelled.

This is why the left lost. They've become intellectually lazy in their arguments because all they've done has called their adversaries racist, homophobe, islamophobic nazis, meanwhile telling everyone there's 500 different genders with no science to back it up. It's all about "feels" now. They are now the anti-science and anti-intellectual side of the political spectrum. UC Bekley isn'y producing any productive members of society. It's just a factory for churning out brain dead SJWs.

While I don't disagree with what UC Berkeley is putting out, I would venture a guess that the masked gang crowd are not students. These guys are a different breed.
