I said long ago Malania would be the best thing in a Trump White House. But MSM is making a big big about her using similar words that were used by Michelle Obama.

"Similar" in the same way the ocean is wet.

I stole this from the Eagle. There are 2 passages that are causing the "MSM" to bleed internally:

In Mrs. Trump's speech in Cleveland, she said: "From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect. They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily life."

In Mrs. Obama's 2008 speech in Denver, she said: "And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: like, you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond, that you do what you say you're going to do, that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don't know them and even if you don't agree with them."

If those words are not to be used by anyone other than Michelle for all time, then I'm guessing most of us are going to have to reference her a lot. As if no one used those words before Michelle? lol

Maybe the use of the word bond is troublesome, and if so the person that helped her and "used" that is an idiot. Personally, I have a hard time imagining anyone wanting to sound like Michelle Obama.

Let's be real for a minute. Melania hit a home run last night. She killed it. They tried to set her up to fail and she hammered them, and the attack squad was out to find anything they could find to temper some of the enthusiasm.

If you think it's even remotely possible--as in a .0001% chance--that her speech could have been written independently and just coincidentally came out using the same words, you don't write for a living. It's not possible.

The use of the word "bond" is not the problem. It's certainly a problem. But how can you look at the two sentences and "bond" is the only one that sticks out as showing up in both sentences?

"From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect. They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily life."

Sure, the concepts are basic and not unique at all. The issue is the order and word choice. This is a non-news event if she talks about respect, truthfulness, and hard work without using 15 words in a row that are completely identical.

Adding a word here and there doesn't make it independent work. If you write regularly, it's very clearly impossible that this is a coincidence.

The bigger question is "why?" Why was this allowed in the speech? The official statement says they included "fragments" of Melania's own thinking. Does that mean she put it in there? Who knows the real reason? You saying "I have a hard time imagining anyone wanting to sound like Michelle Obama" is kind of ridiculous, since... you know, you really liked the speech...

I wonder if anyone has ever compared other potential First Lady speeches like this. This has Kanye Taylor Swift Beyoncé written all over it. I wonder if we went back in time and look at all of them since 1900 if we would find any of the same concepts. I have a feeling there would be lots of similarities over and over and over again because inspiring concepts for first potential ladies to focus on are going to be generally similar. I suppose if someone can prove to me that every other potential First Lady speech has been completely and utterly different with none of the usage of the same concepts then I'll give it some credibility. I have a feeling that like myself no one else is going to be interested in doing that homework

There are actually Trump supporters online saying it was plagiarized with the intention of getting the "MSM" to show clips of Melania next to Michelle so America will subconsciously associate Melania with being the First Lady. lol.

It's entirely possible that the same speech writer was employed by both parties. And if not, then Melania's speech writer needs to be replaced. And that's really all there is to it.

Regardless, Melania's delivery was fantastic.

The response is what's weird.

The only ones I recall being a big deal from your list are Obama's and Biden's. Obama was accused of taking lines from someone else, and he said the other guy approved since they take lines from each other. In my memory, the plagiarism accusation is what ultimately caused Biden to drop out of the race for president.

Here, the Trump campaign is just acting as if nothing happened. No one is going to get fired. No one is being blamed. It's just like, "how could you be so dumb to think that it's plagiarized?"
