Military has taken control of major bridges. Military has declared marshal law, but Erogadan supporters are defying and live shooting is taking place. I'm also sure there will be counter protest because this country is very divided as Erodagan has been moving the government to Islamic one under sharia law.

Evidently a highly motivated small force because they have closed down all the bridges in Istanbul, control state run media, taken control of the airport.

Turkish state telivision is back on the air - which may indicate that Erogadan loyalist are getting control back.

The US MSM is hilariously confuzzled by this situation. They want so bad to hate on the Turkish military involvement, al la Tiananmen Square vibe, but then they begrudgingly admit that Erdogan is basically Assad Light, has led Turkey down a road of Sharia Law and Islamasist rule, and that the soldiers behind the coup have a western ideology coupled with a desire to remove from power a person that might as well be called a dictator. It's kind of like watching the MSM chew off an extremity. Textbook example of cognitive dissonance.

If the coup does fail, it will be the last gasp of secular turkey. Erdogan has been imprisoning opposition press, outlawing opposition parties and trying to change the constitution so he can grab the power. He will be even more embolden and will totally ruthless and will cleans the secular elements out of the military and opposition.

CNN is reporting that senior military leadership thinks this might be a fake coup orchestrated so that Erogadan could do a complete power grab.

I'm watching Periscope right now and you can hear some level of fighting going on in Instanbul.

I'm watching a periscope in ankara right now. It interesting the are turks that think this was a coup being directed by NATO. Then other that think it was Erodogan who did it. Some think it is Israeli/U.S. directed....

Erdogan supporters have gathered outside a army base in Ankara and whenever they get to close, gun fire breaks out. At least 1 was shot - they were showing the blood on the ground.
