Well...sort of. Jesus proclaimed that Peter would build his church. A couple of hundred years later Catholic doctrine came to be. The claim of direct linkage between Christs appointed church and modern day Catholicism requires a bit of faith.

I've been tempted to respond to the haters on Tweeter. I know it would just prolong their idiot posts.

I think we need to go back to a simpler time when religion was tough. No one should come to think Religion like Freedom is easy and doesn't require some sacrifice and discomfort. Straight back pews with no cushions. no A/C, and open windows during the summer so the bugs can come in and annoy people in church unless they are prosperous and can afford screens. Probably need to bring back starched collars, I really miss not wearing those on the Marine Dress Blues. No carpet on the floors so that the Ministers voice resonates and echos off all of the hard surfaces. No microphone or sound system either because if the Minister isn't hoarse after the sermon he really wasn't trying to convey the message. No laughing because Religion is no laughing matter. Or smiling for that matter because its not supposed to be fun or enjoyable. Music should be limited to singing only. Probably don't need any heating method during the winter because ones faith should provide all the warmth and comfort needed. Maybe some heat for the indoor plumbing for those that have it to keep the water lines from freezing. But NO BIDET's. Men and women should be seated separately on opposite sides of the church or preferably with the men at the front and the women and kids towards the back, Maybe provide ushers with long sticks to poke any miscreants as they nod off. There are probably a lot more that could be added but these are the things that I think are important and should be implemented immediately.

Haven't read the whole thread, but it seems to me that this all could have been avoided by using nice cushioned comfortable chairs like many churches use to replace the pews. The cheap plastic seats really look pretty lame.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

I don't think that would avoided what is happening. There are some out there who want to make issue and vent, if not more than that.

You are right, but it is less about politics and more about dogma.

Regardless of how it offends others, Muslims demand, and fight to place a mosque on top of ground zero in New York. Athiests fight, and sue over every slight, no matter if imagined or misconceived. Christians fight to maintain their churches and their place in society. No big deal, this happens when people are free to worship as they choose.

This is not a right wing, left wing, Republican, Democrat fight, it's simply religious fighting over ideology and perceived slights.

                    It will pass.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

A group called ACT for America is mentioned, with Lisa Ritchie stated as the leader of the Wichita chapter. I've never heard of this group before, has anyone else?

                          Nope.

It's not a group I'm familiar with, and I know some people in those circles.

So, some Christians on campus (including a pastor who's there regularly and a Christian student group) asked for the changes so their worship services could be more flexible. Then some outsiders who knew nothing of the situation on campus assumed WSU had caved in to Muslim pressure and went ballistic. Do I have that right?

I haven't researched much, but that's my understanding as well.

That's pretty much it. I followed links and read some of the reader comments from various sites that are slamming WSU. Almost unbelievable.
