  • Royal Astronomical Society - Mini-Ice Age is Coming!

Forget global warming, fire up the coal plants, give everybody a SUV because.

A new model of the Sun's solar cycle is producing unprecedentedly accurate predictions of irregularities within the Sun's 11-year heartbeat. The model draws on dynamo effects in two layers of the Sun, one close to the surface and one deep within its convection zone. Predictions from the model suggest that solar activity will fall by 60 per cent during the 2030s to conditions last seen during the 'mini ice age' that began in 1645.
The expect to be the like the mini-ice age that hit in the 1600's, early 1700 that caused the Thames to freeze over.

You think the shark attacks on the east coast are bad, wait till the Polar Bears migrate south and club you like your a seal.

I knew there were two issues with the science behind that article just from the title:

          1) it hypothesizes major changes in temperature. While these "models" grab headlines, they are rarely accurate as they fail to look at all impact on global change.

          2) it isn't caused by insensitive humans. There is no political or social gain from these studies, therefore it cannot be accurate or true.
