I'm morally opposed to killing women and children. No issues taking down encampments that have families of terrorists living there, but hunting them down is not my thing.

I'm torn on this. I feel a recon should be done prior to any strikes, and if goats of the pet variety are found, then strategic planning is necessary to insure they are either out of harms way, or they that all medical attention is readily provided IF a strike is necessary for reasons of national security. The real problem is that so many of the dangerous livestock variety masquerade as pets that it can become ambiguous at times of conflict.

Phil is a country bumpkin nut who needs to get out of the swamp a little more. He sounds like the Louisiana brother of a friend of mine who had a gator farm in the Atchafalaya River basin (large swamp, larger than that puddle that Phil plays in at Monroe). I seriously doubt that he has done much travel (other than the area where he grew up). He hasn't lived in an environment that is culturally diverse. It's easy to be a simple, backward thinker when that's your sandbox.

He also represents a religion that believes that the only people that 'go to heaven' are their followers. I know this first-hand, my ex-wife insisted that I join the church. When we divorced and I went back to the Lutheran church, the pastor told me he would 'pray for my soul.'


Great plan.....step 1, get rid of those who totally disagree with you. Step 2, starting working on the ones who somewhat agree. Kinda' like the ISIL right now.

ISIS beheads a brit. Turkey tells the U.S. that they will not their airbases to be used. Great Britain and Germany are not interesting in joining any coalition. Evidently the world has realized the beheading of a couple liberal journalist is not really worth fighting over.

ISIS holds a TON of Turkish diplomats that they don't want beheaded. Iran and Syria are both warning us to be careful and Dick Cheney did not learn anything. Obama's Secretary of State is an incompetent, pompous ass. Europe doesn't have the money or the stomach to get involved.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
