It still rings in my ears hearing then candidate and as POTUS, Obama repeating 'diplomacy' over and over again.

Paying dividends now. Don't you think that strategy would be working in full effect after nearly 6 years.
I just wish he'd send secretary Kerry to speak some magic words to this JV group of freedom fighters soon.

I think what ISIS problem is they have never participated in BURNING MAN. Obama should invite them to come and gold and go to burning man.

I'm not talking economic sanctions, I'm not talking embargo, I'm talking total and complete separation. No economic aid, no humanitarian aid, no purchasing of any goods, oil included and no exports. Period. No mail, no air travel, no phone service, no Internet communications, no nothing.
I suspect that cutting off trade in Iraqi oil would seriously offend some powerful and influential American interests.

I have to wonder if it wasn't about the $$$ from the oil, would we even care? There's been war in that part of the world for over 4,000 years. In all of recorded history, there's been war in the Middle East. Going back to the height of Egyptian civilization, there's always been a group of religious zealots persecuting another group of religious zealots in that region. The unrest predates Christianity, Judaism, and Muslim.

Terrorists (with no boats, no airplanes, no missiles - just foot soldiers) from one 3rd world country invade their next door neighbor 3rd world country. Why do we even care? I suspect our concern is about our $$$ interest in the oil.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

I didn't say we could ever pull it off, but it would be my solution. Not only do consumers demand cheap gas, corporations want their take as well. Cheap gas and corporate profits are funding terrorism. That said, alone, the US couldn't completely cut off the Middle East, but we could make life very difficult.

The fact of the matter is this, the Middle East is reliant on the world for its existence. The Middle East exports two things, oil and manufactured goods. Pakistan makes medical instruments, we can get them from China. Also the Middle East cannot sustain it's population on their own food production. We do have the ability to stop terrorism if we have the resolve to stop terrorism.

Don't worry, he'll fix it all up when he gets back from his golf vacation.

He's had fewer vacation days than the previous 3 presidents?

I'd be happy if he spent the next two years on vacation.

And your point being? He is being made fun of his golfing (and he has golfed more than Bush). It not how many days he has been golfing, it is about his disengagement during periods of time when a president should be leading. Bush quit golfing because he felt it sent the wrong message. Obama allies are now complaining that he's pretty much going through the motions. Like MoValley, he can stay on the golf course the rest of his time, less he does the better and I will enjoy all the joke made at Obama Expense.

Yes and no. Presidents are always "working" and as such, it is really difficult to quantify. The difference between Obama and previous presidents is that he has no where to go. Reagan and the Bush's had ranches where they would work, plus the Bush's had Kennebunkport. Clinton had friends at Martha's Vinyard where he would work.

Obama doesn't have any of that. When Obama is out of the White House and not on official business, he is pretty much at leisure (unless he has to slip out of his Footjoy's for a quick presser.) To the contrary Reagan, the Bush's and Clinton carried on normal business during their trips to their ranches and vacation houses.

I would like the media to add to the vacation days count all the fund raising dates plus all the campaigning he's done. That is his true passion. But, they don't count because these trips are always wrapped around some official business that constitutes a 5-minute speech that he was late for since he was out fine tuning his short game.

She's a heifer... I thought California was suppose to have good looking girls.

Problem is this is a very common view by what I have found to be truly adherent to the Muslim faith. I know a guy who has said there will be no peace with Israel until there is "right of return" - that PC for the destruction of Israel. He was educated in America, lives and works here. He is moral, hard worker and is a nice guy, but I always wonder could he be the guy who could be radicalized - spends alot of time out of the country. He sends his family back to the middle east because he doesn't want them to be Americanized.
