  • DOJ Directs Schools to Implement Race-based Punishments.

Experts slam DOJ letter telling schools to implement race-based punishments.

What ever happened to good sense and reason? If a child does wrong he or she is appropriately punished. Nothing else matters, i.e., size, color, race, rich or poor, ugly or pretty, etc. Our society has turned stupid, and now only thinks in terms of "political correctness. What the hell happened to us and how do we get it back to pre-stupidity days?

In sum, "Education experts decried a new memo from the Departments of Justice and Education that instructs public schools throughout the country to cease punishing disruptive students if they fall into certain racial categories, such as black or Hispanic.

The letter, released on Wednesday, states that it is a violation of federal law for schools to punish certain races more than others, even if those punishments stem from completely neutral rules. For example, equal numbers of black students and white students should be punished for tardiness, even if black students are more often tardy than white students.

The Daily Caller asked several education experts to weigh in on the letter’s recommendations; all raised serious concerns about the ramifications of changing school disciplinary procedures to engineer equal outcomes across the races.

Joy Pullmann, managing editor of School Reform News, stated, "That any notion of equal racial discipline is obviously flawed. It’s ridiculous to assign quotas for discipline based on race,” she said. “If we did that, for one thing, we’d have to believe that Asian students are severely under-disciplined.”

Frederick Hess, director of education policy at the American Enterprise Institute, described the policy as, “Troubling, and an attempt to intimidate schools into initiating bad policy. It is certainly desirable for schools to eliminate policies that treat black and Hispanic students unfairly, but DOJ’s new recommendations, “have overshot by a mile in terms of their proposed solution.”

This is what happens when you're a career politician and someone that's feeds off the government teat your entire life. It starts by being a professional student and just spins out of control from there. The really sad part is that these idiots think this is going to solve the problem.

This has to be fake or have stemmed from an article in The Onion. There's no other reasonable explanation, so I'm going with fake until proven otherwise.

There are a number of non-major media sources listed in google reporting DOJ's action.

And get this, Google lists 'shockernet' as a source as well. When I looked, we were at the top of the entire list.

Also, the Daytona Beach News Journal ran a column on it on 14 Jan and it is very likely that other newspapers did as well. Does not necessarily make it true, but the numbers are certainly mounting.
