Kung Wu's Mountain Man Philosophy
I think in a truly free country there should be a "mountain man" test on ALL laws whether federal, state, county, city, etc. The mountain man test goes like this:
1) A man should be allowed to completely remove himself from any and every society.
2) So long as he does not participate in any way in community, he should have zero responsibility to interact with any government and be completely legal in doing so.
3) He must still obey the laws of the land.
4) By choosing to no longer interact with society, he forfeits any rights to participate in government support programs proportional to the time he has been alive and removed from society.
5) He may reenter society at any time, because after all, he is a truly free man.
6) He has no obligation to tell the state he is removing himself from society -- he can just up and leave at any time.
7) Leaving does not make him "immune" from being held accountable for any laws he has broken up to that point or any debt obligations he has accrued up until that point, if any.
8) If he reenters society, he has to file an exemption that states the period over which he was gone before he can obtain a driver's license, put kids in public schools, etc.
9) While "gone" he may not keep money in a bank or any financial instruments. He may only keep his money in the form of currency on his person or dwelling,
Examples of participating in society may be "owning property", "driving on public roads", "working", "having investments", etc. If he does any of those things, he may be participating in society and will have the same obligations as anybody else (will have to renew his drivers license properly to drive on public roads -- private roads are exempt). If he owns property he may have to pay taxes if the local government requires it. If he works he may have to pay taxes if the governments he resides in requires that.
So he can live on somebody else's private property, build his own log cabin by his own hand, farm and hunt for a living, and live completely free from government interaction and be completely legal. He has no responsibility to file any forms what-so-ever.
Now let's say he falls out of society at age 20 but reenters society at age 40. If there are entitlements out there, he would only be eligible for 1/2 of what the non-recluse would receive. At age 50 it would be 30/50ths, at age 60 it would be 40/60ths, etc (I didn't reduce those to make it obvious how it works).
Now here's the kicker: Any law that violates a man's right to live truly free from society is a violation of New America's constitution.
What do you guys think? What would the founders think?
