I have never heard the quote let alone know the context. Please edumicate me.

I suspect most don't, but as Robert Wuhl quips (also borrowing the quote) in his brilliant HBO special 'Assume the Position' (a must see if you haven't), when the legend becomes fact, print the legend.

Like with Dick the butcher's support of Jack Cade, the real problem is with all the bad lawyers. It's not that lawyers are useless.....just that so many are. And now like @60Shock: said, they run our government.

It's not about going backwards...it's about common sense prevailing over the occasional one off. Liberals have now defined non common sense as progress....and people are lapping it up for fear of being labeled old. Please kill me now.

China is an incredibly hyper-litigious society right now as well. I don't think you'd use the term "liberal" to explain their society.

People in general will get away with whatever they think they can get away with. As long as the law is written flimsy enough to allow so many loopholes, people will always try to benefit from them. We have a lot of loopholes right now.
