Mexico also sent troops to the border during Biden's tenure, so let's see what actually happens.

I thought Trump thought that tariffs were awesome, better than love, would fund the US Govt etc etc etc. And then at the last minute he changed his mind?

After the stock market swoon, unpredictability for businesses, etc. etc.

We did get a fentanyl czar out of the deal though.

I think how he used tariffs vs Columbia is far different than his announcement about the tariffs on Mexico and Canada. He seems to be making it up as he goes along.

Sorry guys. That's called a Trump win. I know how that disappoints many of you.
Didn't Biden already have a deal with Mexico where Mexico had 15,000 troops at the border?

The tariffs with Canada and Mexico were tanking the stock market so Trump went to both countries and negotiated something that was already in place from the previous administration, but not common knowledge to the public, and claimed it as a victory.

Trump plays the media effectively and uses the lack of knowledge of most of the American public to claim he's winning. The appearance that he won, when in fact he got nothing for dropping the tariffs, is proof to most of the public that tariffs work. That's some outstanding political maneuvering.

That was under Trump in 2019, and it ended up being about 10,000 troops on the northern border. I have read that Mexico has indeed maintained about 9,000 troops at the northern border which conflicts with reports of there being no significant military presence there. There is question as to whether Mexico will just rotate out a bunch of the 9,000 troops with the new 10,000 troops, instead of adding them.

If I were Trump, I would require them to assist in building walls in strategic locations.

Did anyone hold up to their end of a deal when Biden was in office?

I can believe that Trump might have thought twice about the tarriffs after the fact and this was an easy way out of it. This is what we are going to get with him. Fine with me. I don't really have a problem with Trump talking a little **** here and there. Hopefully Canada elects Poilievre as PM. If they do, Canada and the US we be stronger and closer than ever.

Trudeau is clown and needs to go.

32 years after the fact, INS Deputy Commissioner Gorman Seedling's idea to combat illegals makes a ton of sense. Mocked at the time, he was definitely ahead of the curve.
